Please don’t mention the Glazers buying Utd with the club’s own money :emoticon-0121-angry

Still one of the most unforgivable things that's ever happened to the sport tbh. My Dad stopped bothering with United as soon as it happened. BSkyB wanted to take over United as well until the govt stepped in. PL was prepared to let that happen, corrupt beyond belief.

Why does Jota hate Arsenal? Who cares?

He's taken over from Drogba and Rooney...

Chelsea FC supporters chanting ‘Roman Abramovich’ fought running battles with French riot police:

Burn it all down.

Whilst a core element of the fanbase is scum this has to be taken with a pinch of salt. I've heard conflicting reports from reliable people in Lille as to how this all escalated.

Even the West Ham fans (who I've little time for) were attacked unprovoked by Frankfurt fans in Seville which ultimately resulted in unsavoury skirmishes between the sets of fans.

Anyone asked Chiellini about how Juve collapsed last night...?

They've been handed the smoothest possible path on multiple occasions and come up short. Not a fan of Emery but is revenge tour has been spectacular so far. Dumped Arsenal and United out the EL and was incredibly unlucky not to beat Chelsea in the Super Cup Final.

Times Liverpool are scheduled to play before City: 4
Times City are scheduled to play before Liverpool: 1 ...

Sky and BT trying to aid Liverpool and United in their quest for the title/top 4? Say it ain't so.

It ain't so (unless you can show me for a number of previous
seasons that similar patterns existed and are not possible
due to chance) . ;)

Obviously as a Spurs supporter I set the "burden of proof"
bar quite high on this (specifically the last two months of
the 2015-16 season - fixture schedules + Clattenf**k) .

Some of the reasons that, for all my contempt of
Chelsea in general and the Chelsky era in
particular, I do not support the current punitive
actions (as it could put a club out of existence) .

Battered would probably be more accurate, but that's part of being in that competition.
You can get lucky with the draw or face a side that could embarrass you over two legs.

Just checked and Arsenal got knocked out in the round of 16 on 7 consecutive occasions before failing to qualify again.
Barca, Milan, Bayern twice, Monaco, Barca again and then Bayern a third time.
They finished 2nd in the group in 5 of those 7 season, which is probably why.
They also faced Bayern in the group once, Dortmund three times and Schalke once.
Must have some sort of cheap travel arrangement with Germany! <laugh>

The Goons survived for so long because of the UEFA ranking pts regime.
Even now, with at least 5 seasons out of the PL top 4,
they would return to the CL today with a "pot 2" ranking
(exactly as they had at the end of the 2016 season) .

It is the nature of the Juventus.

No Italian teams in the last 8 of the Champions League for the 2nd consecutive season.
Atalanta lead Leverkusen 3-2 in the Europa, but they're their only representative in that.

They do this in some of the Scandinavian countries.
Some bloke in Finland got fined $103,000 for speeding.
Our system makes being poor illegal. It doesn't punish proportionately.

The punishment should always fit the crime. < Nemesis >
Which doesn't necessarily mean wealth proportionality.

People with a certain amount of wealth often seem
to place high value on their time. Imagine forcing these
people to work N hrs (weekends included if possible)
on road gangs, doing ""OAM" work on road safety
signage (painting, posts etc) as penance for the crime.

Apparently over the last ten years we have won more CL knock-out ties than Man Utd and Arsenal put together

Just shows how hard it is to win big matches

IMHO there is also a "pedigree" aspect to UEFA land games.

For England, the Poool have obviously historically
set the bar high for their peers to match, Whether as the
empire, or quite meh in their domestic league, they
have done consistently well in UEFA land.

I feel that Spurs have a similar pedigree (albeit to a much
lesser degree) , which explains the epic of 2010-11,
and the Pochettino era only needing 3 consecutive seasons
of CL football to reach the first final.

I'm spitting too many feathers at present to voice my agreement
