Because that is what the fixture scheduling algorithm produced ??

Without doing data analytics on the fixture schedules for say the
decade prior, I cannot say for certain whether the Man Utd fixture
schedule this season is nothing more than chance (like it or not) .

It has a constraint set.
Ex : Spurs and the Goons can never have home fixtures on the same day/times.

I would need to see the system interface to determine whether
the constraints could be suitably programmed to attempt to generate
the Man Utd fixture list.

Beyond such constraints, I would expect the fixtures (when dimensioned
by league position last season of the opponent) to be the uniform distribution.
I would need to see the system impl innards to assess this.

HAHAH to date, and the weekend game is A. So nothing of note.
The fixture IMHO could only be on late saturday, as no doubt there is a
similar constraint as the Goons for Spurs/Chelsky home games.

Each team is paired with another in the division and they're never at home together.
There are also lower league sides that ask to be away when certain Premier League teams are at home.
Every five games has to be two at home and three away or vice versa.
Clubs can ask to be away from home on specific dates and these requests are often granted.

We always used to ask to be away first game of every season for example, because the timing of the sunlight on the pitch at old WHL meant the grass needed an extra week to grow properly.

What really ****s the fixture list up is all the reschedules for TV companies, IMO.

I just read about a PSG player getting booked for doing a " Rainbow flick" I had to look up what it was , nothing wrong with that if it comes off but if it fails you look a bit of a plonker or am I missing something because the clip I saw the other player got pretty upset about it

I don't think he's cautioned for the flick.
He appeals for a handball and the opposition player gives him some ****, but it's a throw-in.
The ref wants to talk to him about the confrontation and he refuses to come back.
He then mouths off himself, which you can't see properly as there's a player in the way.
Gets the yellow for mouthing off to the ref, in my opinion.

A few years ago a Brazilian player got sent off for scoring with a backheel in a local derby

...although I get the feeling the ref did so to give him a head start because there was a decent chance the home fans would've lynched him if he didn't leave the stadium PFQ

yeah, I meant their 2nd which was the winner. Not sure what to make of QPR, they were highly fancied at the start of the season, mainly based on a decent squad strengthened probably by the signing of Austin plus a great second half of last season. I don’t take easily to Warburton either. I remember a few seasons ago, No Kane No Gain was a big fan of his mainly due to his work at Brentford, which was fair enough. Seems to me he peaked then, was out of his depth in Glasgow and will possible fall short at QPR.

As for West Brom, they have a good upcoming manager who did miracles last season at arnsley and appear to be reasonably strong in all areas. They already look definite for at leat the play offs.

I always thought it was very impressive when ever anyone got Brentford doing well. In hindsight, Brentford have just been very well run over last number of years so I probably overestimated his part. Still don't like that they ditched the academy though.

I don't understand why they don't just apply the same methodology that they use for their transfers to youth players. Weird.
Maybe it's not possible to acquire the stats to make it work?

I think it was to do with moving funds from the academy to their new recruitment system initially. Now they have more funds I guess they're either sticking to what works or it's because it would cost a lot to get the academy off the ground again and with even longer to see a pay off for it.
