Every time I hear that expression I can't help but remember Steve Buscemi in Reservoir Dogs playing the world's smallest violin for the waitresses. Far more deserving than Messi of course!

Also wondering why PSG needed to pay him quite so much. After all, where else could he go? If he wanted a huge payment then there's pretty much only one place to go and as that one place, surely PSG could have negotiated a better deal. Perhaps goes to show that money (and indirectly FFP) means nothing to them.

He gets fouled, if anything. Gets the ball first and if there's any contact, then it's mutual. Both players have their feet quite high.
Ref made his decision purely on the reaction of the player. Glad the cheat got knocked out.

I'm guessing there was no VAR in these qualifiers because there was no/minimal contact made and, as you said, Bonke gets kicked first.
Surely, a VAR review would overturn that? Unless it's not deemed a 'clear and obvious error' (which seems to be entirely subjective in itself).

That was my view as well. More sinned against than sinner.

It was a second yellow I think so wouldn't be reviewed anyway
