Since you posted this Smithy, Sutton have blown an 10 point lead, this was after Torquay had blown an 11 point lead. With 3 games remaining, It’s back in Sutton’s hands, when 4 days ago it was in Torquay’s. Stockport who are chasing the leaders, are at home to Torquay on Sunday.
No Utd manager would treat a Liverpool game as anything other than a cup final. Same for Spurs v Arsenal. Whatever the situation, this is a must win game.
Just read that Laporte has apparently switched allegiance to Spain. When I initially saw the headline I thought "Impossible, must have 20-30 caps for France"... Was well shocked to see he's never played for the senior team, not even in friendlies. 26 years old and albeit he's had some injuries, he's been one of the top CBs in Europe for a few years now at both Bilbao and City. Meanwhile you only need to have a half decent month in the Premier League to get a call up to the England squad!
France's last squad contained Kimpembe, Varane, Lenglet and Zouma, while Upamecano missed out. I'd pick Laporte ahead of a couple of them, but that's a lot of competition.
Villa without Watkins or Grealish in the starting XI, as the latter's returning from injury and the former is suspended. You have to think that Everton will take advantage of this and go above us.
It seems at least one coach was a decoy so the Liverpool team bus could sneak in through the rear entrance when nobody was looking... You can take the team out of Liverpool.......
Giorgos Giakoumakis will finish top scorer in the Eredivisie with 26 goals in 30 matches, as the next highest scorer needs 7 to catch him. He plays for VVV Venlo, who have been relegated and may finish bottom.
Ooh aah VAR. I don’t understand what the rule is with those tackles. Bailly got the ball a long time before he collided with Phillips. I assume the decision means that he was entitled to go for a ball he was favourite to win even though it was inevitable there would be contact with the player?
Well, predicting is a puzzle sometimes.I expected United to lose to Leicester, Chelsea to lose to Arsenal but I did not expect United to get wopped by Liverpool!
So United have handed Liverpool a CL place. Chelsea v Leicester will decide whose place they take. Liverpool now only need to beat WBA, Burnley and Palace. As dodgy as they have been against lower opposition, I can't see them messing that up. RCL'd!!!
Aren't you a little embarrassed by how your supporters are behaving? I think we all understand the grievance but to take it out on the opposition coach is just wrong.
Given how Man Utd fans have spent large parts of this season racially abusing their own players, with occasional forays into racially abusing one of ours, I think we're past the point of being a little embarrassed by the toxic weirdos that make up a worrying percentage of Man Utd's fanbase
There is a growing fear in the pit of my stomach that we'll qualify for the Europa Vauxhall Conference. I'd rather we just lose our remaining games and give someone else the 'privilege' of competing in Murmansk in mid January. Give the new manager clear weeks between games with which he can integrate new players and get his ideas across. Chelsea and Leicester have recently benefited enormously from taking a 'gap year' from European competition, and I think we would too.
