From the BBC website...Antonio Valencia: Man Utd captain sorry for liking 'time for Mourinho to go' post

Footballers aren't the sharpest tools in the box. Who would have thought that, being Manchester United captain and asking for the manager to be sacked, would attract any press attention?
Smart move if that's what you want to achieve though

It's demeaning to the club and particularly, the role of captain. I railed against George Graham's appointment and tenure but would expect the club captain to say nothing on the issue, no matter the depth of feeling against the manager in the camp. Players aren't paid to express such opinions. If they're taking the club's money, then they represent the club.....for good or ill, especially the captain.

Maybe that's a view from a different era and I guess I'm just old (school)?

Reactions: The Changing Man
No, don't agree. They should stick to the original plan by playing poorly. That'll get it done quicker.

It may not though.

Perhaps they looked at bi-polar Chelsky, and decided that
they cannot gamble on 2015-16 repeating when it could
actually be more like 2017-18.

But in the old days, the manager wouldn't publicly criticise and goad the players in the way Mourinho does.
We have had a lot of pointed remarks by Mourinho about the players.
Then pointed remarks by some of the players, especially Pogba, about him and the style of play.
Something has to give soon.

It's not for me, no matter what but I'm not a social media type. If the players feel strongly against the manager, then go and see a member of the board. If you're going to play to the crowd,do it on the pitch.

Steve Bruce given the sack..........he can take his cabbage home in that.

Steve Bruce would be perfect for man u next manager a 3 year contract should do the job and get the mancs in the championship <laugh>
PROS: As an ex-Man Utd player, Bruce would appeal to the fans and get them off Woodwardwardwood's back
CONS: 93% of their fanbase hadn't been plastinated when Steve Bruce played for them so have no idea who Steve Bruce is

Norbert says he takes responsibility for Saltypool's world class attack failing to get a single shot on target against Napoli

I guess he'll have to be replaced, as everyone knows it was a conspiracy involving Man Utd, UEFA and the Camorra that dicked them out of a deserved 23-0 win...

For all the so-called Spurs supporters falling on their swords the other night for losing against the possible competition winners with half a team, you could easily argue that Pool's result was worse than ours.
