You could hear the collective sighs of relief from Barcelona/Madrid/Munich at not facing any of the above in the last 16.
Putin? I could understand referees being their 12th man if they were dealing with the Russian leader.
Chelsea have now sorted out courtois goalkeeper problem they have replaced his shorts with a ladies skirt
This morning, there are reports from Chelsea fans indignant at being attacked by Barcelona security staff. I've been on some European trips over the years and been in some hairy moments at the hands of foreign fans, security and police. There's not much that could get me to shrug my shoulders...but Chelsea fans singing "Barcelona, you will always be Spain." does it for me. If you're gonna poke the sleeping bear, don't be surprised when it wakes up and rips great big holes in you. Not everyone is an isolated bloke on the Paris Metro, boys.
Aaron Ramsey to miss China Cup as Ryan Giggs names first Wales squad Ramsey will have a "small procedure" during the international break, Giggs has revealed. Rumours are it’s to try and insert some courage, but the prognosis isn’t good
It happens. I can remember a tiny team beating Newcastle,Malcolm MacDonald and all.....and mighty Leeds going down the same way.....and Arsenal losing a cup final to Swindon Town at Wembley (Swindon Town?).......but, then,we've come a cropper a few times. I can remember a chap called Norris for Bournemouth jumping up and down around Ted Ditchburn and turning Ted into a wreck and we lost 3-1 (apparently the ref allowed all that!) and they were managed by a former Spurs player who knew something about Ted!
That reminded me about Pat Jennings. Some player was trying it with Pat.Pat got fed up and booted him! Only time,I think, that Pat got booked!
It was against Leeds and Jones who got whacked. He deliberately backed into Pat and raked his studs down his shin. Regretted it.....
