West Brom's Chinese owner has sacked the Chairman and Chief Executive. That is a novel approach, especially when it's to keep Alan Pardew in post.
Still, I guess that there's hope for West Ham fans?
Its not that novel. I know a company that will be owned by the Chinese soon, and the Chairman, the CEO, the COO, the CFO and a couple of VP's have got to reapply for their jobs.
They sacked Pulis when they were 17th and they're now well adrift in 20th, having only won one game in that period. The club say it's following "poor results". In football, it's always the manager; never the people that employed him, nor the players that can't be bothered to try. I'm surprised to see the 'top guys' getting it this time.
If Southampton go down, Mauricio Pellegrino's toast. Les Reed will probably get another go, despite the sacking of the very competent Claude Puel last summer.
Interestingly, both clubs have recently been bought by the Chinese. Is that a coincidence or a sign that they don't know what they're doing running a football club?

They've basically drawn with a few decent clubs (us, Liverpool, the Goons, Everton x2) and lost to everyone else.
Sacking Pardew might help, but would you trust the people that hired him to get it right this time?

Far too many clubs fail to appreciate what the likes of Pulis and Allardyce bring to the table, while failing to plan ahead. It just shows how tenuous being a stable PL club is. One moment you're finishing upper mid-table, banking your TV money and patting yourselves on the back for being 10th for a few seasons; then a couple of player departures, the odd injury, a managerial change and you're in 'panic mode' and appointing Alan Pardew, whilst dropping like a stone.
The bottom 2 clubs share Saido Berahino in common. Chance or something more sinister?
The Chinese as so inscrutable.
I have found mainlanders in business that I have
dealt with, to be anything but.
There was a heavy touch of sarcasm in that post, to be fair, mate.

One of our fans lives in Hong Kong , he does not post often , but he was seriously unimpressed when he found out the Chinese had bought us .
HK Chinese or not, he is not likely to be too
impressed with anything mainlander at the moment.

Arsenal's Alexandre Lackofthreat is out for 6 weeks following knee surgery. I can't help but feel that they're better off without him, especially with Giroud fresh and raring to go........![]()
