Good to see a nice guy like Steve Bruce back in the game. A great appointment for Villa. He'll get them up. Very impressed with his new haircut.
Well it was either offside, handball or after the match had finished - or all three simultaneously, making it in the running for the most wrongly allowed goal of all time perhaps.
So nobody's mentioned that Steve Bruce would rather accept the Villa job than the England job? Or that nobody can blame him?
Another set-piece. another goal conceded by Leicester. They look so vulnerable from them this season.
They've two defenders who just don't know what to do, now they can't foul with impunity. I was surprised they spent so much on forwards when their defence was likely to be the issue for them this season. They really needed to bring in a bit of pace and less wrestling to cover for CL and rule changes. Poor recruiting.
2-0. Pretty fluky goal, but Huth's lucky to still be on the pitch. This could get quite bad, if Leicester don't seriously raise their game. They've been awful.
4-1 defeats to Liverpool and United and a 2-1 loss to Burnley in their away games so far before today. Both 4-1's were just before CL games as is today's game. Lack of effort and minds on other things coming into play as well as **** defending?
Rubbish first half from Leicester. Chelsea didn't have to get out of 2nd gear. How will Ranieri improve things for the next 45 minutes?
He won't mate. Leicester are a shambles without Kante. It really is that simple. The whole of the first half Chelsea were playing in the hole that Kante covered all of last season. Without him they're screwed as they have the slowest CB pairing in the league. We did the same, Man Utd did too. All you have to do is play in the space between the defense and midfield and you'll beat this team. That goes to any team in the league.
They've been truly awful. Musa is a rubbish partner for Vardy as they both try and do the samething. If they get Slimani and Mahrez on at half-time they might just make a game of it but the way they played in the first half, they're lucky it's not 3 or 4. Really think Ranieri's attitude preseason, trying to play down their chances hasn't helped. It's all well and good doing it when you're underdogs but it's cowardly when you're champions and Leicester's players look like they don't believe they're capable of competing this season. They'll be for a worse title defence than Chelsea at this rate.
I think that Mendy was supposed to be Kante's replacement, but he got injured, so they've put Amartey in and he's not ready. The cover isn't there and their system from last season's unworkable without it. Doesn't explain why they're so poor on set-pieces, though. New rule, perhaps? Not convinced.
Not being able to defend set pieces is something that becomes a habit. Last season 'Pool were atrocious at it and you could sense the fear from players and fans alike as soon as they gave one away. We've had times, a fair few of them, as well, when giving away corners was cause for me to start feeling "Here it comes, again." There's an almost imperceptible twitch of my left eye and a repeating of the mantra "Get it out, get it out, GET IT OUT" under my breath that comes from our set piece defending over the years.
Ahead of the Sky Sports derby, Moronho has urged both sets of fans to be respectful. This is the same Jose Mario dos Santos Moronho Felix whose recent track record mainly consists of publicly disrespecting his own players and staff when he needs to blame someone for another poor result, right?
