UEFA have made a bit of a balls up with this one: That's Old Trafford. It won't be back there next week!
His general play was actually very good indeed. He just couldnt finish. Then when he did, he got dropped.
Shevchenko, Torres, Carroll and Robinho probably edge him out as biggest waste of money ever - especially as all cost significantly more. But yes, his time with us was bitterly disappointing. Completely the wrong system and managerial upheaval couldn't have helped. Immensely popular with the fans and still tweets words of support before many Spurs games. Consummate professional Who would you say has been your most disappointing PL signing?
Edit : sorry. Misread the question * <run> * for the avoidance of doubt, I did not mention Paulinho. I dont think I did anyway.
many of your fans derided Solado before he went. as you say other sides paid more for bigger duds, the biggest waste being Falcao at Chelsea and United. as to Arsenal/Wenger - we/he normally buys cheap - so haven't had many costly mistakes.
how is he doing at his new club, has he improved ? didn't he have a decent record before joining Spurs, if yes then manager upheaval to blame probably
You do know that neither United or Chelsea actually bought Falcao I take it, they both paid a standard loan fee though.
You can deride a player for his (lack of) footballing ability but still love him as a person. He remains, bizarrely, one of the most popular players we've ever had. I'd say your biggest flop is probably Arshavin @ a tidy £16m. Jury is still out on Granit and Mustafi
true Arshavin was good for a few games then was ****e for a lot more. Granit is actually good, Mustafi hasn't played yet.
Ah, you're another one who knows how much every player earns, you should speak to the tax office you could make them thousands
He has looked it in the few games he has played (so did Arshavin at first ). I actually think Granit is a good consistent player tbh.
Ffs don't be so defensive - you paid £6m as loan fee and a reported £300k a week - that adds up to an expensive flop ! How or why Jose repeated the **** no one knows - perhaps he hoped to do better than LVG. as to selling a player for £500k and then buying him back 3 years later for £89m, only United have been that stupid. SAF didn't rate him and sold him (SAF didn't make many mistakes) so is it Jose ego doing the buying?
