Kirchhoff had a decent game too, in my opinion. Probably a good player with a dodgy injury record and fitness concerns. Move to Arsenal in the summer? You're right about them not being missed if they go down, though. They've contributed very little this season and not a lot in quite a few others, too. Probably need a clean sweep of some senior players and a fresh approach.
All I can ask of Spurs now is the players show some backbone, go out and put in their best possible performance against United. Regardless of the results elsewhere for the rest of the season, I cannot accept any kind of capitulation that might allow the Gooners to finish above us.
BTW, loved the Vardy is the 'new Terry' banter. Careful though, somebody may think you are all serious.
It's the clean sheets every week which is impressive. Allied to what Vardy can do on the break, these wins are no surprise.
As I said, Leicester must be pursued as though they are level on pts, as IMHO that is the only way we will finish in the top 3.
As I asked earlier, how many wins have Leicester taken from losing positions ?? That may be the weakness that seldom gets exploited.
Not sure without looking up the stats, but they did it a number of times in the early part of the season didn't they? West Brom away springs to mind.
Really sorrybut the "Leicester are boring" stuff is rubbish. They played great football until December or January...and since they lost to the goons they have done what they need to do to win the league. They do not cheat, they do not kick their way to wins and they aint a gobby bunch of prima donnas. If we had done what they had done after we lost to west ham we'd have 4 points more, with a game in hand, and all of us would be talking about how well we dug in for results. We beat palace and watford over xmas in a very similar style. I getpeople are disappointed but this sounds like bitterness gone wild imo
The games are exciting because of the situation but the football? One or two exciting moves in a game does not constitute exciting football. It has nothing to do with bitterness RCL . We have a very exciting team at Spurs and the future right now is looking very bright indeed. There is no need at all for bitterness but I do recognise negative football when I see it and Leicester are in the same mold as Revie's Leeds, and Graham's Arsenal, and that RCL is boring whether it offends your sense of be nice to Leicester or not.
And 2 from liverpool last week...that would leave them 6 points ahead of us right now with this being a game in hand for us
Nope. We were not in the position where we were 1-0 up and could shut up shop like Leicester have been. Spurs blew it in the week of the two London derbies. At least 4 pts was required. Only one was taken.
Leeds were cheating thugs, Leicester ain't. Arsenal were offside specialists, Leicester ain't. I never said these games were exciting, I said they played some great football until December or January. I have no sense of being nice to Leicester. .. I just disagree
My original point was if we had achieved what Leicester have done in the last 4 or 5 matches then we'd be 4 points closer and no one here would be complaining. .. anyway, enough of me be contrary it's ko time
Sky showing Arsenal's games as part of the "title run-in". Leicester need a maximum of 6 points from 5 games to finish ahead of them. And Arsenal won't win their last 6 games anyway, will they?
1. Old Sky habits die hard (bless em) . Are they showing Liverpools' too ? 2. In the words of my new hero, Moh from ArsenalFanTV : mathematically possible.
