The beauty is....so do chelsea or they will stay just 4 points above relegation complete win win watching this one...I want a draw with Cech dropping the ball over his line in the last minute and a lot of red cards
The way things are going colin it has to be a case of damage limitation for Chelsea. If they lose heavily tomorrow they'd better pray that the teams around them keep losing. I wonder what it must be like for Chelsea supporters to look around to see how Norwich and Bournemouth did instead of City and Arsenal.
The latter is so much more preferable then they can join their friends like Leeds, Cardiff and, when they get promoted, Millwall in the Championship!!!
Do Man Utd supporters have to face the fact that their glory days are over? I have to admire any coach who takes that job on and so should their supporters. It must be the hardest job in English football, all credit to LVG and David Moyes and whoever is the coach next season.
"Do Man Utd supporters have to face the fact that their glory days are over?" The question is how long does a supporter wait before accepting this may be the case ?? Our Mouser friends may be able to answer this one ( "next year is our year" being very relevant here) . How long after 1990 was it before supporters started to think : well actually it may take quite some time indeed to rebuild the empire ??
If he carries on like this, I think we can all say that Alli is nailed on for the young POTY award. If he does win, that makes 4 of the last 5 winners Spurs players, having not picked up the award at all since a certain Glenn Hoddle in 1980. It speaks volumes for the superb approach we have in spotting and developing young talent, and hats off to the entire coaching staff and academy visionaries who made this possible. The fact that 3 different managers were in charge for our 3 recent wins shows that the current trend is an entrenched part of the club's entire philosophy and one that I am immensely proud of. @O.Spurcat whatever it is you slip into their morning coffee, carry on doing it as it's working!
"I think they still live in hope RD but Klopp isn't their man." They go : 1991 : temporary blip. Next year business as usual. 1992 : see above. 1993 : ... How many years before you do realise that the empire is at an end ?? So for Man Utd, you have 3 successive years where you may have only qualified for the CL via the PL once, and in that one year you were dumped out in the group stages. Are we seeing exactly the same pattern of decline as for the last Poool empire ??
The difference has been the amount of money clubs like United can throw at their problems and that tends to keep them there or thereabouts. The irony is that as the TV money grows and grows all PL teams can throw money so it becomes more about how accurate you are with your money aiming. Levy and co have been very shrewd in making the move to youth and home development in what has clearly been a deliberate, well financed and visionary plan. Spurs are clearly amongst the most progressive clubs in the PL. We always knew we were better looking and more intelligent but now we are adding nous.
Don't forget "better endowed," Spurf. I've been ramming that one down Gooner's throats for years. Er...
"The difference has been the amount of money clubs like United can throw at their problems and that tends to keep them there or thereabouts." The reality is actually thereabouts, but only for CL participation. As we have long seen with most of the Sky 4, the money has secured that easily for them. But since 2010, any minor slip-up, appointed manager / player money wasted / on-pitch lapses etc will be duly punished come May. Citeh becoming a Sugga Daddy FC just compounds the problem (for those clubs and the potential usurpers) as much as Spurs now punching at worst exactly at their financial power does.
Big win for Swansea and delighted for Siggy too. I think that's Everton's season done and dusted as far as we're concerned. So pleased we didn't make the mistake of appointing Martinez as he's once again being exposed as a markedly average manager who has taken a very gifted squad and gone nowhere with it.
It's going to be a long afternoon for arsenal. Pity they aren't playing someone with real quality, like Watford.
