"Garde comes across as a nice chap". On my TV, he comes across as boring as the street lamp post outside my house. An awful appointment by an awful club.
We'll never agree on these things, SC. I liked AVB, afterall I didn't really know anything about him before him getting the Villa job, other than him being a former Gooner. Given Lerner's record for making terrible decisions(McLeish ffs!) I'd be surprised if you were wrong about him being an awful choice. However, with the ****-show going on all around him, I think he's handled himself with some dignity and I like that.
Results have generally gone our way again. Hopefully the boys will now be chomping at the bit to get a win tonight.
And with Liverpool and Arse to hoepfully take points off of each other...I can also see Everton getting at least a draw against Kompany-less City. What worries me is that we have a time-honoured tradition of not capitalising on weeks such as this. Ideally, us and Everton to win and Arsenal to draw sees us 3rd with a 4 point cushion over West Ham. Ideally. Talking of West Ham, they just won't go away, will they? I thought they would enter their traditional mid-season collapse after they picked up a few injuries but they soldiered on and now with Payet back look menacing once again. Who do you think will still be challenging for the top 4 come April?
Remember how, early in the season, the media were saying Van Galling had made Smalling into a top quality defender? I do...
Funnily enough I didn't hear anything about dodgy decisions in favour of ManU on sport radio this morning (heard about an hour worth). Seems that dodgy decisions are only dodgy depending on who they benefit. By comparison, the same station mentioned our penalty several times on Monday.
I thought he lost the plot over Allardyce. Sulking because he wasn't welcomed to the stadium and refusing to shake hands after. You can take the man out of the Gooners but....
Swansea off to a flying start. 1-0 down after five minutes. Defoe showing that he's still capable. Offside though, apparently.
Yup, sounds like him alright. I swear some seasons he was responsible for at least a third of the offside calls against us.
So frustrating and unnecessary. He'd be up against some lumbering lump and he'd still try to nick a yard.
66 points might be enough for 4th and the CL. Leicester are going to get 3rd at worst. Stoke had 3 points after 6 games; 29 in 15 since.
Why is it that Liverpool are consistently granted an extra day's rest between games whereas we are perpetually handed the earliest kick off possible?!
Sort of but if you look at the Fixtures since we both played on Dec 26th our gaps have been 2 days, 5, 8, 3, 3 and theres 4,3,6,5,4. The spacing of their games looks better to me too
I've wished the Sunderland lads the best of luck for the weekend, on their "Spuds v SAFC" thread. I'm using their lingo, which I think they all appreciate.
Manchester United sponsor Adidas wants Barcelona and Argentina forward Lionel Messi, 28, to be reunited with Pep Guardiola, who is leaving his post as Bayern Munich coach this summer, at Old Trafford. (Marca) Well, that's unlucky. He's off to £ity!
Because we get big club preferential treatment, refs help us a lot too, and the media. And the aliens who run the world.
