I always think its very odd when clubs sack a manager without having a replacement lined up. The implication is that having him there is worse than having nobody which seems a bit strange.

How do you know they don't have a replacement lined up?

Hiddink's the current favourite, followed by Ramos, Guardiola, Simeone, Rodgers and Ancelotti.
I suspect that someone's been lined up following the loss to Leicester and will be at the Sunderland game, but take over officially afterward.

No, this is not Photoshopped.

Agreed but I think most do have one or two names in mind when they sack a manager, the trouble is negotiating to get them in, especially if they're currently at a club.

There's also the trouble of word getting out. We got caught out speaking to Ramos and apart from Sevilla being pissed off, it also undermined Jol.

Here's one idea that might be best for everyone: John Terry is out of contract at the end of the season, and given his history of undermining managers at both club and international level, why not stick him in the dugout and tell him he's finally got his chance to prove he knew better all along?

As long as Abramovic keeps his greedy little mits off Poch, I don't give a large F on who they appoint. They can get Arsene Wenger for all I care.

Send all XI of the ****ers out on the field without any manager! They weren't working for a manager when they had one, so what difference will it make?

Hiddink is in talks to assume the role of stop-gap. He knows the club from his last caretaker stint there, but hasn't accomplished anything of note for around 5 seasons now (although people said the same thing about Ranieiri and now look at him).

I reckon they'll wait for the summer and move for Pep or Simone.

It's telling that Poch hasn't waded in with any "Oh! What a surprise Mourhino's been sacked!" comments.

I don't suppose the media can safely publish what Poch thinks on the subject!
<laugh>

One day the papers will notice something: Guardiola's contract at Bayern expires in the summer - as does Del Bosque's with the Spain national team.

You know, it's almost as if there's a connection between the two...

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, oh what fun it is to see Leicester/Norwich/Tottenham/Palace/Bournemouth win away. 5 away wins already this weekend, fans will have got good mileage out of the song.

Hopefully City make it 6 away wins Monday night <ok>

Hope Villa and Newcastle have brought their snorkels for the second half. Surely it's not far from being called off?

Curiously awful yet riveting second half. Loads of chances but the conditions didn't help the finishing.

The draw wins me £12. Will try not spend it all at once <diva>

Really think Leicester will get a CL slot now.
And the usual suspects having UEFA distractions in the final third of the
PL season will help them.

Liverpool have Adam Bodgan in goal, as Mignolet picks up an injury in training.
3 minutes in and Watford are 1-0 up! <laugh> Horrible start for the replacement, as he drops an easy corner and Ake puts it in.
