True, it's always gone on. I remember talking to Jeff Probyn about David Sole cutting the sleeve off one arm of his jersey. He just laughed and said 'silly **** was trying to stop me pulling him down, I just grabbed his arm and pulled him down anyway'.
The difference being the ref just ignored Ballack as he was ranting and jogged away, rather than the usual "Sorry to disappoint you, sir, it won't happen again" reaction you see in the Premier League.

And notable that the S hemisphere sides have overall been much faster in clearing
out opponent players (England in particular were slooooow against Wales and Aus) .
