Tis indeed strange, the BBC's obsession with LFC and Liverpudlians. I think it must all spring from the 70s and that unexplained upsurge in dreadful Scouse comics, such as Tarby and Tom O'Connor. For a long time, the Scouse was heralded as the premier joker in the British variety performance deck of cards. Sure, they night nick the lead off your roof, but they'd tell you a joke or two while they were doing it!

Arsenal are lucky to still be in this. Utd have been so much better than them, but it's still only 1-0.

Something really needs to be done about players picking the ball up and running off with it.
There's no difference between that and kicking the ball away.
Rule change needed, in my opinion.

De Gea looks to be off. Should be fun reading all the Lloris to Utd stories. <doh>

Young is having one of the best games I've seen him play recently. He's been giving the Goons defence the runaround on Utd's left side all game.

The lack of cover in front of Bellerin has given him so much space to work in.
He's really taken advantage of it.

1-1. Massive deflection and Valdes is beaten by the first shot he's faced.
Can't really blame him for that, to be honest.

Anyone's game now. Van Gaal's mob didn't put the game away when they had the upper hand.

  9. Despite the fact that Arsenal managed to scrape a very, very lucky draw, I strongly suspect that, next season, United will improve to the point where they are challenging for the title, but Arsenal will still be to desperately make 4th or 3rd.

I hate the fact that Arsenal make it, yet again, into the CL. Giving them a CL spot is simply a waste of time.

UEFA's corporate sponsors would be really upset if Dinamo Zagreb got their spot in the group stages, though.

I read somewhere that if the English clubs fail to have good runs in the UEFA competitions next year, and the Italian clubs have another good year, then we may well lose the 4th league CL spot to Serie A. Would shake things up a bit.

Another reason to cheer Juve in the CL final, then...

Just think, if Spurs do very badly in the Europa Cup, that could lead to Arsenal losing their perennial automatic route into the CL via 4th spot.

Will we, therefore, witness the spectacular phenomenon of Gooners cheering Spurs in Europe! Perhaps some Gooners may decide that the Europa is not quite so "europey" after all? Not if it's going to cost Arsenal an easy way into the CL. Because, of course, if we do losing a CL place, then all Arsenal will achieve each year by coming 4th, is a Europey spot!

We'll fail in Europa and then finish 4th and end back up in it anyway. We're the only team that gets to finish 4th and not make the CL

If we could potentially lose our 4th CL spot then the PL should strip Arsenal and City of their qualifications and give one to us and one to another side. We had 1 attempt at the CL and got further than Arsenal and City have since, despite being 3rd seed to Arsenal's consistent top seed picks. Also, we might need Bale back so the PL should buy him for us.

I honestly can't see how anyone regardless of the team they support could disagree with any of that. Its for the good of the whole game

What's good for Spurs is good for the game. You know it makes sense

De Gea is certainly going to Real Madrid along with around £25M and Bale is returning the other way.
