Podolski's transfer to Arsenal has been confirmed. Additional firepower for their squad or replacement for van Persie?
Well, Podolski has signed his contract, RVP hasn't. I think that tells us everything we need to know.
Is anyone else underwhelmed by Podolski? I have never thought he was anything special and doubt he will do much in the PL. Apart from a few performances for Germany, I think he is overrated.
I think he'll do well at Arsenal as long as Van Persie's there, doubt he'll be able to lead the line by himself though. Not the type of player that we are looking for so this signing doesn't bother me too much.
If he's a direct replacement for Arshavin he will be an upgrade, as he will put effort in consistently instead of when he can be arsed, which is what they need from a player whose primary job is loading the bullets for Van Persie - but it remains to be seen if he'll be doing that next season. Come to think of it, there's something bugging me about the Lazy Tabloid Speculation involving our players, as well as various players at Newcastle and Everton. The basic template is always "[Spurs/Newcastle/Everton player] will leave if they don't secure Champions League football", yet there's one glaring issue with this reporting - the story is never trotted out for Chelsea or Liverpool players. Liverpool quite simply won't be playing in the CL next season, and Chelsea aren't confirmed for the competition at present by any stretch of the imagination, yet I don't see articles linking Suarez/Gerrard/Reina/Coates/Torres/Mata/Cahill/Ivanovic et al to teams that are.
You think that, after three seasons without Champions League football, that would work as some kind of hint that all you have to do is offer a Wednesday night game against Sturm Graz in order to sign Jose Enrique.
i think they are promised with being overpaid too....in the long run that wage ceiling will be our downfall in attracting the players we really wish for.
What on earth happened on the Man City board. I see the mod had some sort of breakdown over the vital issue of cross board threads! http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/141529-Moderator
The ex-city mod, felt that without cross-board threads, his board was going to become a morgue. Sadly, for him they can't bring the cross-board threads back without the twats from GC exploiting it. He got banned for trying to delete all the threads on the City board or something.
He went for the going out in a blaze of destruction method then? I respect that, if only it had taken Mick more than a minute to solve it would've been achieved.
lol what a dikhed he was anyway...that place was a morgue and its mainly down to his dictatorship....wow fr a so called big club not many of their fans have much to say about football..probably because they are still inventing proper football in the blue part of Manchester.
Scholes plays basketball - no booking. Rooney kicks Kompany and goes down injured with Fergie complaining - booking. Andre Manuriner
