Wenger hasn't rectified glaring deficiencies in Arsenal's team/squad for at least 5 years so why start now? He'll buy another attacking midfielder and some unheard of French left back before allowing Chambers to leave on loan to QPR
We had a pretty unbalanced squad last year (one thing Poch has done right is to sort that out a bit), but Arsenal's is unbelievable. They have Ozil, Sanchez, Cazorla, Walcott, Ramsey, OxoCube and Rosicky who all want to play wide or behind the striker (so does Wilshere!). And then everywhere else on the pitch they have problems. Weird. I thought they might kick on after winning the FA Cup, but they just seem so short of belief (apart from Sanchez)
Messi to Chelsea won't be happening, but interesting transfer news breaking today - Bony to City and Oldham look to be signing Ched Evans
Shame Lee Hughes left. They could have quite an interesting front pairing. Save time on workplace visits for some parole officer, too.
Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny could be fined by the club following reports he smoked in the showers after the 2-0 Barclays Premier League defeat at Southampton on New Year's Day.
They talk about top players making the players around them better. It's true of Erikson, for example, though I think he needs a rest. Could Sanchez be the kind of top player who makes the players around him worse? It might explain Wenger benching him early on, and the decline in Arsenal's level of play. Ours has gone up because we've gotten players to play one touch football for the most part. I wonder if Sanchez's habit of spending a lot of time on the ball throws off the team game they're trying to play. Otherwise I'm at a loss to explain why Arsenal continue to struggle. I thought they'd pick right up the moment both Ozil and Wilshire were out.
The Goons struggle, relatively speaking, because their team is unbalanced. It's something that is plain to see for all. All except Whinger, apparently.
Valdes has joined Man Utd on 18 month contract . Why not sign for a team with guaranteed first team action like Liverpool maybe ....
Very weird move, unless Utd have signalled De Gea is off in the Summer and therefore Valdes will join in January as a bedding-in period and then become first choice once De Gea is gone?
Unfortunately, this may be very near to the truth. We all know how Real Madrid don't let up once they've made it known they want a player. I thought they'd moved on from raiding Utd, but obviously not.
