As pathetic as it sounds, Palace's third goal is the most I've celebrated a goal this season! What a crummy season we've had!
What a comeback by Palace last night. Pool completely bottled it. Handed City the title now, be very surprised if City don't finish the job now more than ever.
It is a difficult choice - a club owned by oil magnates or a club owned by an American billionaire......
Cost of Liverpool's XI last night = £170m Cost of Palace's XI last night = £20m I'm a value over cost guy, but it's not City's fault we witnessed the biggest title choke in history & Rodgers failed to address a problem that existed all season. The fact is, Rodgers has been awful in the transfer market with a signing success rate of 1/10. After beating City and Norwich you should have won the league. Stop blaming everyone else when it was Gerrard that cost you the title.
"It is a difficult choice - a club owned by oil magnates or a club owned by an American billionaire" They earn 70m Euros more a season than Spurs, and here they are pleading poverty. If they run their club better on transfers/wages like Spurs and Everton do, they would get more bang for their buck and not have to worry about monetary arms races with the Sugga Daddy FCs or the Empire.
Can't disagree more. United, Chelsea and City will all be stronger next year and having to juggle Europe and the league will be too much for them IMO. This season was their one chance with Fergie gone and so many managerial changes at other clubs. I think the tears from Suarez and the fans were an acknowledgement of that.
We will have to disagree then. For me, much will depends on who spends the most wisely. Those clubs you mention will undoubtedly buy, but so will Liverpool. Keeping Suarez will be crucial to them. But with a decent defence they will be there or thereabouts. Last night's mistake was Rodgers thinking he could chase the goal difference gap with City. You could see that by the way Suarez grabbed the ball after their third goal.
There has definitely been an "anyone but the Poool" conspiracy at the end too, They have not been awarded a penalty for two games running now. Jeez, that push on Gerrard that let in Ba to score for Chelsky was as clear a penalry as I've ever seen.
That was sheer arrogance on Goofy's (and Pool's) part. He genuinely believed that he (and 'Pool was so good that Palace was there simply to gift those twats goals. I cheered when those goals went in, especially the third, because it sent a very clear message to Goofy - you were good enough to win this game, but you blew it with your arrogance. Yes, Gerrard cost them (with his slip, last week), but so did Goofy. And I think those tears of his were his goodbye to the fans. He's probably already had the "Real Madrid For Ever!" tattoo done on his arse.
I'd go with that. From the look of their defence they're going to need to spend all that CL money and then some just to sort that out. They've also been lucky with injuries this season and there's no way Suarez, Sturridge and Gerrard are all going to stay fit playing 60 games next season so they'll need some top quality buys in those areas to give them a proper sized squad. Selling Suarez is probably their best bet for getting the top 4 next season.
Careful YV, we tried that avenue by selling Elvis and bought what we hoped were the Beatles but ended up with that failed boy band from Popstars of whom I can't even remember the name of.
As was ours in selling Bale. Difference is, Levy forgot that he needed a "top 4" quality manager, too.
