SAF said Young went down easily. So make of that what you will.

I'll take that as an admission of guilt.
You're not going to get any more than that.

Pires was clearly the worst diver that the Premier League's ever seen.
I have no idea how he even got away with it, because he wasn't in any way convincing.

There's a new diving sensation in town..........Ashley Young

Two weeks running, minimal to no contact whatsoever, either that or there's a sniper going to United's games <laugh>

What I don't get is why the refs buy it given how bad Young is at diving. Arsenal (Pires et al) were good at it and only in slow motion could you tell, but Young's dive are so ludicrous. How many times have genuine penalty shouts been dismissed because the player goes down too theatrically, but Young does such a silly dive that it would be funny if the refs didn't buy it.

If the FA really want to help out their ailing officials, then they should hit Young with a ban now.
He's done it twice in succession, so put him out for the rest of the season.
It's largely meaningless now anyway, in all likelyhood.

Sends out a message for next season, without really having to do anything.

I can see I'm outnumbered so I'll withdraw gracefully.

It was a foul though <ok>

nothing graceful about being blinded and stubborn and pedantic about the details just because it is to suit your team.

i got no problem admitting when someone in my team is wrong...most of us condemned Bale for his antics as it made our club look embarrasing <ok>

OK, I maintain Young was fouled against QPR and Villa although both fouls were fairly innocuous and there was minimal contact on each occasion.

Where he has been rightly criticised- by his own manager too- is in going down theatrically, which does him no favours. The next time he is genuinely fouled in the area, the ref will probably wave play on. In the long run, the theatrics are counterproductive.

He doesn't do himself any favours with the theatrics, Luke. Referees will be watching him more closely after all this press coverage.

People condemn the likes of Ens for being pedantic but my lord,i have not seen so much pedantry with regards to details of what constitutes a foul and wether a referee decision influences the outcome of a match..due to it effecting confidence, momentum etc etc...just because 2 of the sky 4 were the beneficiaries yesterday.

Just seen this on the Chav board (posted by a Gooner mod).

Is this tit for real?

Vermaelen's pulled one back.
I'll be surprised if Arsenal don't go on to win this, now.
