He has help in the transfer market doesn't he, it just doesn't seem to be the right help. They must surely have scouts separate to any transfer committee as well so that's an area that could improve.

Definitely needs a defensive coach and goalkeeping coach, what's Pako doing these days? Most managers bring their assistant but at least he didn't do a Moyes.

For all his studying of the game and dossier or whatever impressed the owners, he needs to realise there's more to being a manager than tactics and picking the team.

Well, in theory he has help with transfers but who are they and what makes them qualified? I think the other committee members are more interested in other things such as marketing, finances, age and nationality. Who else other than Brod is on that panel and only interested in player quality? (debatable for Brod I know)

Pako left for family reasons didn't he? Or was it because he fell out with Rafa? I can't remember now. Anyway, plenty of others out there, just needs to be someone new to Brod.

Agree with the last bit <ok> If he'd accept a simple head coach role it could work very well. Get him some attacking players in and tell him to concentrate on tactics and the team.

my main thing is someone somewhere put balotelli on a list... 5 men all looked at each other in a room somewhere... probably several meetings as well and somehow the gobshites still signed him... that points to collective delusion or myopia or just plain stupidity

I think Brod looked at it and thought; "I don't want Borini but the ****er won't leave. Lambert is a plan Z and Studge is made of crackers. If I don't sign someone were going to be ****ed"

i dunno

he signed lambert first before the WC.

I thought he signed lambert for plan B on the basis of Suarez and sturrdige playing.

Once suarez was going all plans changed.

Someone somewhere went oh **** it's carroll deadline day all over again. I still say balotelli no matter what should not have been on the list.

As i recall Can was confirmed quite early, then lambert then the suarez stuff blew up. I think lallana and lovern were always on the list too so we sold suarez and ended up sniffing round others and ended up on badontelly's door in late august

For me we were rumoured on lots of things and some compromise between a disagreement on targets was reached. This alone says panic and someone somewhere didn't agree on one or others targets. I m not sure who wanted who now... but we did almost sign remy.. thats not a big move.. we looked at e'tto very foolish at the time and proved to be so...

i dunno but someone should have said **** lads this is mad no. If we only had 15mil i'd rather we'd just gone and bought some ****er like shane long and been miserable about that penny pinching than this

Juve 1-0 madrid.

Havent really seen much of them recently but they're playing really well, dominating madrid.

Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville

BBC Radio 5 live

"Tonight we saw the Carlos Tevez of his early days at Manchester United and at Manchester City, it was absolutely wonderful and he didn't give the Real defenders a moment's rest.

<laugh>

Nah, tonight we saw the Carlos Tevez of Juve and it had jack **** to do with your former club.<whistle>

We should have tried to get him when he was leaving United.

We still had Mascherano at the time and both think he wouldn't have been so quick to leave had we had tevez as well.

Dont think Liverpool would have offered him any where near the type of cash he was getting at City or even at United.

True but chance to play with Mascherano again and we were hardly poor so could have offered decent wage as well as CL football (I think)

Maybe but remember who we are talking about.
Tevez is one of the biggest mercs in football.

Chance to play with Mascherano again, or an extra 80k per week? I know what he would have chosen

oh I have no illusions about that mate, just that Tevez seems worse than the average.
