Yeah but had we been close enough and an Everton win could have really helped us, we know they would have rolled over and let United tickle their bellies like they did for City last year

It's kinda disappointing that you let your heads drop, with United losing back-back, and had you won at West Brom, you would have been right in it again, you still have a good chance if you win your game in hand, but the pressure would have been much higher had you beaten West Brom.
It might not sound so fun to fire the players up for top 4, but that's what a good manager should be able to do, and Rodgers hasnt seem to have been able to lift the players, make them believe there is still something to very much play for.
