...........Mourinho, whose side visit third-placed Arsenal on Sunday (16:00 BST), does not think any deal will be done without his approval.

Former Real manager Mourinho added: "If they want him, I think I would be the first one to know, because my relationship with the president [Florentino Perez] and with the CEO [Jose Angel Sanchez] doesn't give space for something to happen behind me.

"I trust them completely. If they want him they get on the telephone and they call me to tell me they want him."

Sounds to me like he is going and mourinho is just starting the haggling on price.

Do you think its worth us putting in a cheeky bid?

I've played for a team which was half South American and none of them spoke more than the odd word of English but on the pitch it wasn't a problem, you figure each other out.

I'd bet they were good footballers for that level though. Newcastle players aren't, and they don't make up for it in communication or organisation because they speak different languages. They don't make up for it in desire either. And that's why they are where they are.

Newcastle should be regularly challenging for Europa given the size of club they are. Average attendances above 40k as a club they are arguably bigger than Spurs and Everton.

However the the expectation has been that way for so long that it causes added pressure.

The he owner not giving a lot of money doesn't help but I do think of they got a decent manager in and were allowed to rebuild the squad then they could easily become a top 10 team within a couple of years and gradually be challenging for Europe.

Had we won yesterday and got another win against Hull midweek we would only have been 2 pts behind Man Utd if thigns stayed the same. Shame Rodgers decided to throw our season away by proving a point about Balotelli...

We may still have a chance now but if depends on Rodgers not messing up. We could have been much closer

We may not be out of it after all.

United need 2 wins and a draw from last 4 games... that's assuming we win all 5 games left (including away to Chelsea) because of the GD (unless we got and win a couple of games 6-0 <whistle>)

WBA home - Win
Palace away - draw
Arsenal home - Win
Hull away - Win

Can't see them dropping enough points from those remaining games for us to have a chance. Let's assume we lose to Chelsea, they'd only need 6 points from that list as well...

4th place is pretty much gone.

Not impressed by Luke Shaw at all,not for the first time either. Time to improve I guess

Been the same for all the Southampton players. All played well when under less pressure, once they go to a bigger team and are expected to hit those heights every week they've not been able to cope as well.

Like you say, still time but at the moment, he looks nothing like a £27m full back.
