But they were still punished for not meeting ffp, would they have met it if all the cash was counted towards FFP?

I guess so, that's why they kept saying how they were confident they were going to meet it.

Center midfield obviously, Toure and Fernandinho, had to compete with 3 or 4 a lot of the time when battling for the ball.
Do you actualy know anything about football :D

Ah yes of course, because in centre mid we had Carrick, Felli, Herrera, Mata etc etc

Well a lot of red faces on here, predicting the downfall of United, but you have to say they have shown great character in their recent run if not great form. Despite a United win always being unpalatable in many ways United beating city was the best result for liverpool, the door is ajar for us to now sneak past city the worst team in the top 6 at the moment. Unfortunately I think we will still have to win all of our remaining games and with our form being questionable as well i think that fairly unlikely.

Looking back over the season i think we can clearly identify that we failed to get adequate cover for Sturridge or replace Suarez which cost us dearly in the top 5 clashes and especially at the beginning of the season. Being the second time the BR has left us bare upfront I think its reasonable to ask questions of him considering the money he was given over the summer, but IMO i'm happy to give him another season to see if he can get last years signing to perform better and get us firing again up top.

It is the goals for column where you are lacking (as are Southampton), the defence is comparable with other top six teams. Unfortunately i see Sturridge returning to his City/Chelsea days without Suarez regardless of injuries so you need to go big in the market for a striker this summer.

Unfortunately for Rodgers, he was unable to pickup a striker he wanted over the summer, and wasn't prepared to take a risk on a younger player. The Balotelli signing was in desperation as it looked we might not get another striker and unfortunately for all parties that gamble did not pay off. I think its a little early to be criticising Sturridge as he has shown hes a very capable player but has been marred by injury this season. As hes so injury prone it made replacing suarez even more important not just for his goals and as a partner for sturridge but to take some of the heat off him in games to ensure he keeps fit, we might be paying dearly for that oversight.

Someone at Anfield should have pointed out to Balotelli that a United win was the best result for Liverpool, his current employer. Then again, I doubt he plans on being a Liverpool player next season and I'd be surprised if the club want him around for a second longer than is absolutely necessary so he may as well focus his energy on being a City fan!

Can't see what all the fuss was about by united fans getting angry and offended that Balotelli tweeted when his friend scored against a club he dislikes, their ex-players do similar and apparently its ok.

Ah ok. Youve made it up.

How had your prediction that Liverpool would win a treble this season gone?

Hows your prediction of Van Beavis making United world beaters this year going? Van Gaal's boring tippy tappy followed by hoofball is making Mourinho look like he plays Total Football. Amazing how he's turned a 60m Champions League final MOTM award winning player into an average footballer

I don't think anyone's offended. If anything it's funny that a Liverpool player is more concerned about City scoring against United than what the goal/result could mean for Liverpool. He really couldn't care less about the club that is paying his wages. Actually, you should be offended!

Nah we are well over Mario

Some of us were over him before he even signed... Like standing on the footpath watching a car crash happening

Nothing you can do while it's going on
