As disgusting as spitting is... it still baffles me how disgusting acts get longer penalties than violent and dangerous ones.

Totally agree. When a player does a two footed lunge it's a premeditated career threatening act. Far worse than spitting or biting IMO

Every time it comes up I remember what Thatcher did to Mendez. What was that? 8 games? For nearly killing Mendez with intentional GBH? Pigs there watching from the side, they should have walked straight on to the pitch and put Thatcher in cuffs

Spitting has long been seen as the worst "crime" an opponent can dish out, even in the days when there was hard/dirty tackles flying in.
Think its to do more with ungentlemanly conduct than anything else, they have only recently upped the statutory ban for spitting to 6 games so its not like they haven't had a chance to put it in to context in the modern game and hand out fitting punishments for different offences based on what those who actually play game want.

Nailed on QPR pen denied

****ing joke of a game

Spurs will get Europa at best anyway but it's so harsh on QPR who are ****ed by the refs

First time i seen you meltdown Astro. You should pretend you are watching spurs through pool eyes. You will think the ref is having a stormer and be happier for it

I'm [HASHTAG]#neutral[/HASHTAG] for this game. Shame the officials aren't.

Spitting was only brought in as an offence about 30 years ago and it was classed as violent conduct and carried the same penalty - red card.

Spitting is seriously offensive but not dangerous and I think most players would rather be 'offended' on the field than seriously hurt, so while the FA finds spitting/biting to go against cultural norms, it should view it as not as serious as a leg breaking challenge.

So off side, you can be offside and run after a through ball and as long as you stop just before you touch the ball.. that's not offside?

So going after the ball while being offside is not interfering with play? OK right then <laugh>

Stupid confusing ****ing rule
