LIVE LONG AND PROSPER

This season is a case of not needing to outrun the tiger, just outrun the slowest member of your group

The points gap is small, but there is just no movement at all from the bottom teams

QPR, Burnley, Leicester have been in the bottom 4 for ages and now Villa are right down there too

Hull making a sprint for their life doesn't mean much for Everton
****ing hell, that's actually a sensible post, without even a hint of a twatish comment <yikes>

Good job I'm sat down..........

You're right to a point, but we've seen plenty of exampes in recent years of sides that look dead and buried doing a Lazarus at the very end of the season. e.g. Sunderland last season

We've only won 1 of our last 11 league games. It's a genuine worry tbh and the fact that we don't appear to be taking it seriously, is making it worse. We're sleep walking into a relegation battle.

If Hull win tonight they go above us and Bruce described them as being in a 'desperate relegation dogfight' last week.

Meanwhile Martinez thinks we were great at Arsenal <doh>

We should stay up, but until the points are actually on the board there's no guarantee. He needs to grind out some results, starting tomorrow.
You need at least 4 of that lot beneath you to climb above, so I can't see you getting relegated.
I think the trick at this stage is just don't panic. The season is a write-off (apart from the EL, amazingly), and so you need to just make it to the end and then take stock.
I'm shocked at the steepness of the decline, though, and it's hard to see Robbie being given much more time, unless you win the Europey.

You'll be fine, Tobes.

Most of it, He inspires zero confidence in the defence these days, flaps at everything and jumps at thin air.

Martinez should never have dropped Robles to make way for his return. Robles was starting to look less like Lurch and more like a half decent keeper after a run of games..........so he drops him for an out of form Howard <doh>

I do like his turn of ****ing phrase, though <laugh>

It's been truly awful tbh.

Watching a side that played some boss football last season with pace and energy, morphing into a snails paced tiki taka borefest, with a back line as brittle as our nickname has been difficult to stomach. Particularly when this is the best squad we've had in a generation, it's piss poor and the buck stops with Martinez.

As you say remarkably the EL could save our season, but I'm not banking on it.

I can see this as the start of a long and beautifly loving relationship for the both of you
