I think I'm starting to see the problem here. You do realise player should actually be touched, never mind fouled to get a penalty right...? Well, unless your Wayne Rooney of course, then you can hurdle the invisible man :)

Vs Leicester Penaltypool got a spot kick as because there defender had the gall to header the ball in his own box. A first <laugh>

So refs should be more careful when handing out pens and not just guess because they are unsighted and the crowd screams like it did for every single decision <ok>

You got what you wanted?

I must say the howling saint is very entertaining... don't pet him too much or you'll have him follow you home and you'll have the feed him.

Hackett said Atkinson's performance was "one of the worst" he has seen, adding: "It was an incompetent display.

"I feel sorry for the Chelsea player because he has reacted to a leg-breaking challenge. Never mind a cup final, that could have cost him his career.

"There is no place in the game for challenges like that and it should have been punished."

Atkinson has refereed more Premier League games than any other official this season.

Hackett added: "Send Martin to a hotel somewhere, just as Liverpool did with Raheem Sterling."

The decision for Barnes' so-called tackle was very poor but to try and justify Matic's reaction as a result of that decision is equally crazy. He reacted in a way that is forbidden and he rightly got sent off. Its irrelevant what he was reacting for.

Ashley Barnes: FA take no action over Nemanja Matic challenge

just cos 90% of players say they'd punch the guy doesn't mean that happens

90% of players globally act like ivanovic did in the game.. they roll around like they are shot.

what everyone seems to have ignored is the fact that ivanovic hammed up the foul so much that the ref thought he was diving and didn't give anything.

If you live by that sword you die by that sword... the ref clearly went in with a wariness about cheslea diving about and being sneaky like costs et al... and cheslea ended up paying for it... karma.

The same can be said about barton... I am sure myself that tom huddleston went after barton in that situation and singled him out looking for a reaction. Barton is well known as a total gobshite and a couple of sneaky pushes elicited the reaction sought

why was huddleston not singled out by all these "pros" who know the score? Easy they didn't want to highlight that huddleston got away with provocation and actual laying hands on an opponent not once but twice.

Barton rose to it.....

Matic will now be subject to the same kind of action in the future... every wind up merchant out there will be trying to get in his face looking for a reaction. you know the sort of stuff, getting in his face, going head to head like costa would and so forth.

Mourinho: "Football is about emotions and clearly Nemanja Matic had a reason to lose his emotions."

Having a reason is not the same as having a good reason or a right to respond. Terrorists have reasons too.

If Chelsea didn't surround and hassle the referee a dozen times every game then he may have taken more notice too <whistle>

Unless it's a Muamba type incident where team colours go out the window and reaction is based on humanity - it always comes back to being biased towards your own and disregarding the rest. Very few see them equally and for what they are.

Where was Mourinho's concern for players' careers when Eto'o could have broken Henderson's leg?

[HASHTAG]#campaign[/HASHTAG]

Henderson isnt his player, surely its up to his own manager to plead for punishment in that case?
What kind of ****** manager would approach the FA and ask for their own player to be banned? <doh>
