He will treat each player as an individual and judge how much of his help they need or deserve. He was the greatest manager the game has seen not a youth worker ffs.

If you wanna get down to brass tacks he never trained him either, the training staff took care of the player and Father Fergie took care of the boy.

Ferguson has said he new he was gonna be the best in the world before he signed him. He gave him the pathway to become the best but any top team were going to sign him from Sporting, Man U just got there first.

Lampard came from West Ham managed from Redknapp and became world class, Bale came from Saints and Spurs. Henry had Monaco and Juve before Arsenal. Players will become world class if there ability allows them too. Playing at top level clubs obviously helps you achieve that quicker. If your at a club like West Brom how can you advertise your talent if your stuck at one level.

Why are you all arguing.
Yes, United used to be good at nurturing youngsters when Fergie was around, class of 92 etc.
Anyone would be a fool to debate that.
As to what Ronaldo would have achieved if he had gone somewhere else after Sporting other than United?
Anything anyone said would be completely subjective and a downright guess....<ok>

Who's arguing? I posted a stats pick for C.Ronaldo and UIR had a meltdown <laugh>

the response I get btw, when I ask why people are arguing.
"We aint arguing, we are debating".....they are the same thing...different word for the same thing....
The dictionary definition of a debate?

1.To engage in argument by discussing opposing points.

The definition of an argument

1. an exchange of diverging or opposite views

I suppose the word Argument carries more negative connotations,

Anything anyone says regarding anything football related is a "downright guess" unless A, they personally saw it happen or B, they believe everything they read in the press or online.<ok>

Also anyone that thinks Ronaldo(the worlds best player)would have went under the radar and acheived nothing if utd hadn't signed him is ****ed in the head.<whistle>

You're missing a certain ingredient with your assessment, this thread is mainly banter between the most successful clubs in the country and two cities with a huge dislike for eachother.
You'll also find that there's a large element of winding up on here and false arguments to get a rise out of the opposition.

You take things far to seriously bod.

I know, like I already said, these sorts of things are what message boards are for I suppose.
Though I mainly was pointing out the futility of the argument, since neither party will ever be able to conclusively prove what would have happened to the greasy little knob jockey had he not joined United

BTW I followed your posts on the what could called libellous matth thread about Danny Murphy and saw you using logic and trying to educate the haters, fair play.<ok>

There's a few on there that don't like to play nice and don't have a sense of humour or banter, best giving them a wide berth.

Thanks.
That sort of ignorant tribalism pisses me off to no end.
I expect it from Matth, because he has the brain power of a budget brand AA Battery, but Shergar should know better.

You're quite right Bod.
There's a big difference between reasoned debate - where different sides try to get to some acceptable truth or at least mutual understanding- and a protracted, tortuous argument where people just try to "win" (which is impossible), regardless of the truth.
Guess which one happens on here the most? :)
"Reasoned debate" and football forums are seemingly mutually exclusive, so as Page says, it's best not to take it too seriously.

Usually a argument or debate involves two tangible sides of a discussion. In this case, there is only one correct side, the other that UIR is portraying is just plain wrong :)
