I'd love him too, but any of Real's defenders would improve us massively. Even their worst one in Arbeloa is miles better than any right back we've got...

If we play with a back four, we all need is a right sided centre back to partner Sakho.

Manquillo is an excellent defender and should be starting more games. Moreno is developing and improving, and Sakho is our best centre back.

We're not that far off from having the right personnel in the existing structure.

for the record manquillo is a decent player but not excellent. that goes too far... he's a compentant player who works hard... lets not confuse that with a real good player just cos its such a releif not to see johnson abdicate any responsibility to track back or to actually go block a corss if a player is outside the box.

all in all................... this is rival watch so....

has falcao's agent proved what a merc the lad is yet... what a royal whine has being heard from salford this last week after the floppy haired one was left out. will utd sign him up and give him a huge wage to not play or will he have to go whore himself to italy.

Not at all - he's very good at defending, which is his first, second and third job. The fact that he's only 19 is outstanding and is a credit to Simeone and his coaching staff.

He's arguably our best defender after Sakho.

Torres kicking Real out of the Cup. Getting his form back?

Bit of a over reaction to suggest he's getting his form back after just one goal. I understand was a tap-in too?

I hope he does re-find some form though, especially now he's gone abroad.

He bagged a brace and neither were tap ins, both good finishes.

Simeone is a ****ing genius if he can get a tune out of Torres consistently

Fair enough, i was going by the comments on the BBC report <laugh>

Torres obviously has the ability otherwise he'd have never have been as deadly as he once was. He lacks confidence and he's lost that blistering acceleration / pace but he just needs the team to be setup for him and he'll still score goals.

Both his goals were really good.

The first goal was a quality finish, the second was rather lucky but he skinned the defender (Pepe I think) to create the opening.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal admits Queens Park Rangers's "long-ball" style has the ability to cause problems for his team this weekend.

Long ball v long ball

Mourinho still on about the [HASHTAG]#campaign[/HASHTAG] <laugh>

Jose Mourinho on the "campaign" he believes his side are up against:
"You could say that Eden Hazard is fouled more than any player in the Premier League. You can also say that we have the most shots and dominance, but still have the least penalties. You can say there is a discrepancy in that.
"Eden Hazard is still the same naive boy who was playing at youth level and for him to go to the floor needs to be something really nasty. He is getting no protection that is the reality."

Mourinho on Bony:

"Well done. He is a good player and a good striker.
"If they have the money and can spend the money and have no problems with Financial Fair Play, well done.
"They can only play with 11 though, unless the rules are different and they can play with 12. The rules are different for them in some areas, but not this one.
"If Bony plays and Dzeko is on the bench then I am happy with that. But to have Aguero, Jovetic, Bony and Dzeko is magnificent.
Asked what he meant by the different rules that apply to Manchester City: "You know what I mean."

<laugh> [HASHTAG]#bitter[/HASHTAG] as ****

He is right though, the offside rule can only ever be applied to benefit Man City :bandit:

The 2nd wasn't a good finish. He passed it to the keeper who near enough dived over the top of it and let it trickle between his trailing legs.

Good id work to dummy and lose pepe but finish was not good

Garbage.

He was looking to slot it in the far corner, the keeper stretched his leg right out to try and get to it and it hit the inside of his heel and went in.

He hit it straight in the middle of the goal and the keeper fell to one side and it trickled under his leg... Was lucky.

If if mignolet had let that in he'd be getting slaughtered, was bad keeping.

and when I say he fell to one side... He fell to the side opposite to where the ball was going <doh>
