My point was that BR spent money in the required areas in an attempt to strengthen the team, they just werent necessarily the players that most Liverpool fans hoped they would be, which is in stark contrast to Wenger and LvG who didnt attempt to strengthen in the required areas at all, because they needed defenders and signed 0 CB's.

Well it was Wenger who needed a defensive midfielder, United already have a great one in Carrick.

Rojo has been good for gis first few games. Certainly better than mangala at city.

I think it's fair however to say rojo is not the top player utd need, but then neither is smalling, jones or Evans so utd are getting by according to a lesser standard and of course a massive blind spot when it comes to defending utd players aside from sideshow bob.

Cahill can be very inconsistent, great one week and then gets skinned the next.
Terry, we all know what his weakness is. He will throw himself in front of anything but he has no pace and isn't half as good on the ball as some other past defenders like Rio, Carvalho, Gallas etc
exactly..... thats why Chelsea are not truly rock solid, there is no carvalho to cover terry.
