We were ****ing abysmal, plenty of Evertonians starting to get a bit frustrated with the lack of variation in Martinez style. He needs a couple of results or the pressure will start to build, Rodgers style.

doubtful tobes.

you lot have had it easy for ages as no expectation has ever been put on you to do anything of note.

cant comment on results as was out all day and didn't watch motd, happy with the results i saw though, even though i didn't expect it, sadly i don't think we will capitalize on it though, but never know in this game lol.

could be revenge for how ****e we made them look last season.

The expectation thing is bollocks. There was an expectation - to finish in the top 6/7, as that was the limit of what was even vaguely realistic given our budget compared to the field. This season was no different. What's happened is that we've fallen behind the top 6/7 and worse than that our performances have largely been ****ing awful.

Evertonians are generally clued up about the game and it's obvious to a blind man that opposing managers have sussed us out. They know that if you press us high, mark the 2 split CB's then we struggle to build anything from the back and will invariably make a mistake. When we do come forward sides drop off and give us no space. We only look any sort of threat lately on the counter. Martinez doesn't have a 'plan b' and his default style just isn't working, this is exactly what he did at Wigan.

More importantly than that though, is the lack of effort and grit in the side. If there's one thing Evertonians demand it's 100% commitment to the cause! players going through the motions will get slaughtered and there's a few of those at present

Apparently we are signing Bale for a mere 80million.

To play as left wing back, or in central defence i presume.

Daveunited will be well chuffed mind.

so not really an expectation then.

we don't finish in top 4 and its wum heaven, and we have similar issues where clubs have sussed us as well, press our CB and FB and we fecking panic, give us space and we can destroy teams, although that is one thing i have always liked about you horrible club is the 100% commitment that you get from players, something ours have struggled to show a lot!!!!

its a weird league this year, nearly as odd as last season, still unsure on where apart from chelsea and city everyone else will finish, spurs have found form, they was written off for top 4.

quite weird we done bournemouth over who are flying high in championship, and they put 6 past their next opponents, so have we found form again or just a one off in a poxy cup game!!

Yes an expectation, an expectation realistic to the budget! Not every side can set their goal to try an win the league or get a CL place ffs, as only a handful of sides have the budget to make that a realistic ambition. One of them being your lot, hence the expectation level, as it's derived from the resources consistently invested.

You over achieved compared to your budget last season in finishing 2nd, but top 4 should always been in your sights as you're consistently one of the 4 highest spenders, it ain't rocket science.

The reason the crowd are getting edgy is that we're not seeing that 100% effort at the minute mate and that's simply not acceptable as we see it as a pre-requisite and always have done.

look everton have thier expectations and we have ours.... its that simple.

if you google it you find

1 Man City £242m (estimated in 2013/2014)
2 Chelsea £190m
3 Manchester United £187m
4 Arsenal£162m
5. Liverpool £140m

10 Everton £66m

now if we say ok accuracy here might be a big issue http://www.tsmplug.com/football/premier-league-player-salaries-club-by-club/

but its not out of line with our club at least..........

well how the F can we as LFC fans expect everton paying less than half what we pay to be competing for top 7.... in fairness to them.

It is true everton seem to have lost goal threat this year and are not as good as they were but equally they've played the full europa as well so I'd expect a pick up in form now.

However yes everton are a bit predictable and i wish i'd not changed by prediction this weekend as a result of seeing Southampton team.... however.... its the same as rodgers... trying to play split cbs with lads like jagielka and distin isn't making the best of those players and everton needs another forward up there.

for LFc the reality is 4th should be between us and arsenal now that utd have unleashed the funds but arsenal are streets ahead of us off the park but are a bit of a turd on it for what they should be. LFC are further off the level than everton are...

That whole story is pure fantasy on the part of the red tops. As if Real are suddenly going to decide to sell their 2nd most prized player and heir to Ronaldo, entering his prime... and for less than they bought him for. Utter nonsense.

sunderland 1 newkie 0

how many times do we see team fail to hack down a guy breaking properly... the guy fro newcastle was on the guys back and let him turn when he should have pulled him down... 1 point turned into 0 right there

mourinho's teams are experts at this foul.

I suppose. All I know is I've seen more from Coates in that one game than I've seen all season from Lovren, and he cost £20m

I'd imagine he'd already be under serious pressure if he was a a club with even modest expectations <whistle>

Maybe he just got lucky last season with the players he had available and now he's been found out?

All sound familiar? you clown <laugh>

True.

In the ideal world we buy neither and save a shed load of money.
