Gilligan's Island is permanent culture in the US. Even teens are familiar with it despite how long ago it was made. Some cable channels still replay it. It is as well known here and part of the national fabric as Fawlty Towers, or Monty Python is in England. Lives on past its original generation.

add only fools and horses to that. although that was 80's, depends if that is classed as too recent or not, i reckon another one will be bottom. i know you had the young ones, but i don't think that has much if any following any more.
I loved only fools and horses! No one has ever heard of it in America. Apparently at several times over the last few decades they've considered making an American version. Just like the Inbetweeners and Coupling, I can't see an American version working... it's too British a show to translate properly.
I know that the SS Minnow took them all to Gilligan's Island. Never once saw the show, but remember it from a quote from Scrooged, with Bill Murray, and I love that film. Christmas classic. 
it'd be over after one episode... this time next year we'll be millionaires and then they would be cos americans would have to have happy ending.

Lot of anger and outrage from yoonited fans over Roy Keane's revelations about Ferguson, the comments sections of Sky Sports and the tabloids contain accusations of Keane being bitter, a liar, childish etc.
Can't remember a similar reaction to Ferguson's book in which he slated many people(including Gerrard, Henderson and Dalglish)but he stuck the knife into Keane's back and the feller is entitled to respond, no lawsuits from either side so we can only assume Keane's stories are true.
Keane was a great player and a great captain for the mancs(said through gritted teeth).

Couldn't give a **** about either of them. All I know is that Tommy Smith would have eaten Keane for breakfast and not noticed it! Keane believed his own publicity as a hard man.

Page, you need to read both books, not the red tops version of what is said. Neither has been vindictive against the other, just honest about their view. That being said, Keane has turned into a bitter old man and has nothing possitive to say about any player or team when he acts as a pundit on TV, i think he just makes inflamatory/argumentative comments to see his name in print.
