wish we could have seen what him and luis would have been like together.

never know, his form may have come back.

I see Manchester United (1999 CL final) have won the BBC Salford vote in the 'most dramatic decider' poll.

It was okay but wasn't as good as our FA cup win against WH, let alone the magnificence of Istanbul. Neither were mentioned, funnily enough. You have to laugh, don't you. <laugh>

Some midtable side winning the champions league pales in comparison to a great treble achieved by the greatest club in the land.

OR it could be the case that last minute winners was the purpose of the poll and not pen shoot outs so it was a straight shoot out between mancs... city voted 19.9% and ut 20.5% or whatever..... seems to me when carlisle goal was included FFS.... that it was just a bunch of saddos voting on party lines.

I hope you enjoy adding this trophy to your cabinet this year as its the last you'll win.

I think if it was a case of last minute deciders, rather than penalty shoot-outs then they should have re-labelled the poll, or certainly not used our penalty shoot out win to inspire it. Which seems a bit silly.

A last minute winner in a champions league final was always going to win anything like this. You dont get much more dramatic.

A penalty shoot out is much, much more dramatic and not just talking about ours either. The drawn out roller coaster of emotions keeps you on the edge of your seat, a late winner is over in a second.

Like f** it is but if you prefer penalties thats your choice.

Anything random, based on luck is just that for me. A game of roulette for example is not better than a 12 round knockout.

As i said, each to their own though<ok>

Of and it may be over in seconds but its 90minutes in the making.

Didn't say I preferred penalties just said they are far more dramatic - a penalty shoot out is pure drama. I don't think any fan ever wants to get to penalties ever, ever .... but you can't deny the immense build up of emotions and tension attached to it.

I have to agree with, JB.

Would I prefer to win a match in normal / extra time? Of course. But are penalties more dramatic? Of course.

Penalty shoot outs ARE more dramatic and tense.

I still don't think they should decide who wins a game though. It's better than flipping a coin but not much... I like the idea of removing two players from each team every 5 mins in extra time (first dead-ball situation after 5 minutes is eclipsed) - fewer players on the field a goal is more likely to be scored in a quicker period of time... and any goal scored will be more "real" indicator of deserving to win than a penalty shoot out goal. Obviously once down to 3 players you stop taking players off- and extra time would be under "golden goal" rules.

It's a much better way than the old coin toss because at least your fate is in your own hands. Removing players .. not sure .. how would that work in practise it would take both managers ages to decide which two, trying to second guess their opponents move. Which area would you start with removing players from, midfield?

Sure thing lads. The crowd reactions are telling. Theres never beem a dull last minute winner. Penalties are boring as hell.

About as dramatic as a coin flip.

You could equally say there's never been a dull goal, as long as it's for your own team an OG can make you ecstatic.

You're so partisan, you can't appreciate all the finer points that makes football exciting and why we love watching it.
