What are they smoking? As if they're going to just stroll back to third cus they splashed the cash. The arrogance. No way they have as balanced a squad as Us or Arsenal or even the spuds!

that could be just in house politics to justify getting rid of van gaal if he fails, if he manages it, ie 3rd or better, they can say great blah blah sort of thing, but for the money spent you can bet your house it would have come from up top, they want results, and they want it now type thing.

be interesting to see what happens if they don't manage it, will it be as simple as getting rid of van gaal?

budgeted 3rd place is a more interesting statement............ does that mean if they fail they will struggle for ffp in a years time? not really but really if you budget that way it kinds of requires higher performance but the gap between 3rd and 4th is nothing

he's really saying they aint up to chelsea and city which is a big admission

Can't be true...
Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton has guaranteed supporters the club will finish above rivals Manchester City next season.

City are on course to win the Premier League title, while United have endured a tough campaign and sacked David Moyes as manager in April.

But Charlton, a director at United, says it will be different in 2014-15.

"Next year I guarantee that we will be number one in Manchester. We like to be first and we will be first," he said.

See a lot of talk about an unbalanced squad. Dont believe a single one of them has a clue what they mean. Just one of those 'in words' knocking about just now.

No Mata or Di Maria. That's over £300k pw sat on the bench <yikes>

Forgot about di Maria.

I'd prob drop rvp and play di Maria behind Rooney n falcao then. Unfortunately mata isn't as good as di Maria who offers pace, something no one else in that team does.

Could put him in dr carrick against teams you'd dominate possession against.

I agree with dropping RvP there but think Mata is a better AM than ADM
