I'm constantly bemused by the fascination with number-crunching on here.
It's not really my thing, but a pox on your percentages, I say.
11% of what? 31% of what.? If our debt was a tenner and now it's £13.10p it's inconsequential. We need real numbers.
Give us the fakhts.

In pound notes, roughly speaking their debt came down by about the same amount yours went up circa £35m

<laugh> Wash your mouth out, Saint! I'd rather have a colonoscopy with an IMAX camera than listen to that dull as ditch-water, sleep-inducing numpty.

<yikes> You're opening a can of worms there, Pandora. If they find the actual numbers will you really study them? I know I won't. <whistle>

Of course not.
I'm a much more passive consumer of football than others on here, particularly regarding the financial minutiae. I can't do owt about it and it isn't of any academic interest to me. Hard, unequivocal figures do tell a story, though, but only if they are accurate and put in the correct context.

I know I'm a lone voice here, but I really don't find P Nev as offensive as others seem to. I still vastly prefer his soporific tones to Mickey's dreadful whine.

you're not being cheeky are you and including shareholder loan notes in that statistic? Ie effectively equity

Totally agree on the financial esoterica. Also agree on the Michael Owen point: he's very annoying! Not sure who I'd prefer commentating between P. Neville and Scholesy. Perhaps a dull draw. Perhaps Scholes' bluntness would edge it. However imagine a commentary team of P. Neville, Scholes and Micheal Owen! Could there be a worse hypothetical pundit team?

These are the latest set of accounts I could find for Liverpool.

Interesting reading for you <ok>

most interesting things about this.

1. obviously scanned as its not even straight on page

2. very bland non glossy financial report style

3. quite simply LFC 46.8 mil new debtdebt is to UKSV holdings limited as the money was put in to get rd of the money on stanley park g&H holdvoer and to get rid of a credit facility....

https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/uksv-holdings-company

this is FSG's holding company so in effect FSG put 46.8mil into LFC and LFC "owe" them this on a zzer interest, rahter like Chelsea owe Abramovich.

4. the real story is LFc net bank debt dropped in the period by 19.9mil to a net 45.1mil....

intercompany debt v bank debt is two very different things.

in short... i also find it rather trite and boring to debate these numbers as its a roundabout of kids pissing on each oher when this moring i asked for some serious debate...

i got at least 2... rather pointless comments that could just have easily not been made that summed up to "I aint interested" and little willingness to engage in any real football chat.

£146m profit

£50m loss

debt reducing

debt going up

When you leave abuse on my visitor wall please try to put some context because it's difficult to remember the reasons for your specific outbursts <ok>

Reverting back to the debt story suggests you're getting a bit desperate Hashtagfella!

Typical manc! You must have learnt your logic at the same school as Alex Salmond. It's your club and your manager that are getting desperate - the table and the spend says so.

United spending money seems to have upset a few people! I bet we've spent less than Liverpool over the past 5 years, we've certainly won more!

Not at all. As of today LFC are 5th and United 14th so the table already identifies that the problem still exists for them. <ok>

I'll agree with you if we're still above them by that many places (or a bit less!) nearer x-mas, but they're only 4 points behind us. Comments like that may come back to bite you in the arse later in the season. They might not, but they might. <ok>

Where's the upset? Your club has been shafted as your desperation has become clearer worldwide. So now you've added some 'star' names to an already lob-sided team sheet and failed to address your midfield and defensive problems.

Now then let's look at the Salmondesque logic you apply to spending. Now your 14th in the table. Your club have been forced to spend £150 million to try and make up for the neglect that has led you to your present lowly position in the league. Whereas, we are in 5th place with Champions League football to come so our spending is bearing paying-off.
