So Man Utd have replaced Evra with Shaw, Giggs with Herrera, and Ferdinand, Vidic, Buttner, Bebe and Macheda with no one.

Dumping that much garbage has increased the squad #quality but not the starting XI <ok>

Weve lost 5 squad players and 2 first teamers. Weve bought 2 first team players and promoted 3 players to the squad.

We have about ten less games to play so dont need a squad as big as last season. We will bring in 2 or 3 more before the window shuts. Rojo (who i dont know muvh about) should be one. The rest? Vidal, di maria, blind??? **** knows.

Vidal is the only good one, and would let Van Gaal play his preferred back-6

Shame we didn't buy any defenders with the Suarez money.

Oh wait :emoticon-0133-wait:

You've basically swapped Lovren for Agger (when he finally goes this window), brought in a young full back on loan and now Moreno. A massive improvement? We'll see.....

What is it those 3 monkeys do? Thats what the lfc fans are doing just now.[/

Please tell me where United have improved? If shaw is as good as evra was ( even though he was an obnoxious ****) you'll only be standing still. Herrera? Don't know much about him and the little I have seen doesn't look as if he's going to take the prem by storm. I remember all the hype with Kagawa a couple of seasons ago and that dwindled away.

Lol, di maria is brilliant.

Tge other two? No idea. Much like most of your signings.

100million amd i dont think any other big club would have touched any of them.

I'm not keen on Di Maria and didn't want him linked with us

Not consistent enough, goes missing, 1 goal in 5 games

He's not what we need and not what I think you need either

In non-#bitter speak, we've improved our quality and options in CB, LB and RB

We've also improved defensively in midfield with Can (and imo Lallana helps too by adding to our pressing style)

I guess at the end of the day Rodgers gets the players he wants and that's all that matters. Many on here would have rolled their eyes when we signed Couthino and Sturridge!!!
Rodgers knows what he wants and he knows more than we do ( yes even more than UIR and Tobes unbelievable as that might be) and we have faith in the guy who nearly took us to the title last season.

Weve improved by swapping moyes for van gaal amd adding one of the best midfielders in spain last season.

Our two biggest problems were the manager and the midfield. The defence was an issue but largely due to a poor midfield.

So for me weve improved on past season. Of we had the champions league to consider then we would be very tjin on the ground.

If we add rojo (is he any good) then we add to our defence. If as expected, vidal signs then our midfield issue is completely resolved.

Di maria would inject pace. Something rooney and mata dont bring.

Ifs and buts on those above but they are heavily linked and none have even attempted to deny the links.

By Garbage hope you mean the last 3, and cant replace a winger for a CM

We've potentially replaced 3 out of 4 of our starting back line. Lovren will probably start most games. Moreno and Man-Quill will probably be regular starters by Xmas (depends on how the settle... especially Man Quill- Moreno will probably be a regular within a month).

It should also be remembered that we are starting from a long way back in terms of squad depth.
If we had gone and added 2 £40-50 million to our squad and nothing else we wouldn't be any better off because of the number of games we must now play. We would still have had the likes of Aspas and Alberto on the bench.
Despite what's being said most prem teams would take lovren, lallana, markovic and Moreno. Origi too. Next season if we add 2 big name players to this squad then that will make a big difference.
And who's to say we might not get one of them this summer even though time is moving on. (Ozil was last hour signing)

United are welcome to Rojo! We were linked with him at the start of the window, but wanted Moreno as our first choice. Rodriguez was one of the stand out LBs at the world cup for me, miles ahead of Rojo. Not sure he's any better than Shaw tbh...unless they plan on playing him as LCB, but surely they need an experienced, top drawer CB rather than another kid in there?

I get the Vidal links, he'd strengthen their midfield massively and easily displace any other midfielder in their squad, but I don't understand the Di Maria links. Where would he play? They'd have Rooney, RVP, Mata, Januzajizijiz, Hernandez and Di Maria vying for 3 quite central forward positions - never mind the likes of Welbeck or Zaha (which United poster was it who claimed he'd be the next Ronaldo?).

Can't remember where it was, but someone was talking about Hererra as a 'ticker'. He gets it and gives it and keeps the play ticking, that's his role in the midfield. He's another Allen <ok>

No doubt they'll do better this season than last, but I don't think they'll be top 4, never mind challenging as some 'respected' pundits and journos seem to think.

Watched Rojo and Rodriquez quite closely in the WC because they had both been linked with us. Rodriquez looked very good in an average Swiss side , Rojo looked average in an average argy side. Got caught out of postion a lot and produced very little top end. Don't know if he's any better at CB . All I can say is glad we got Moreno ( although would have been happy with Rodriquez)

I think that united are finding it hard to attract the type of players they need because of lack of CL. Like us they think players will come because of the name but that's not true in most cases...if it was Sanchez wouldn't have gone to arsenal

Barkley out for up to 6 weeks after injuring his leg in training.

Not good for the Blues.

Very inconvenient that Rojo was selected for the World Cup XI! Who knew at the time he'd be linked with United!

Phil Neville tells The Times that he's taking time to prepare his 'management bible' in preparation for his '25-year plan' for a career in management. "I want to build my own philosophy," he says. "I want to build a dossier, write it down, as a bible. So when I go into a club they know this is what I'm about. Jose Mourinho has it, Arsene Wenger has it and that's what I want to build."
