• Premier League

 • FA Cup

 • League Cup

 • As much as Everton and Spurs!

Arsenal managed to fail to win their own tournament again <whistle>

Apparently Valencia did well coming top against 3 "World Class Sides".

I thought they played Monaco (not even the best team in France and missing their best player in Rodrigues, plus a half fit Falcao), Benfica, enough said, and Arsenal.

Hardly World Class teams <doh>

Interestingly, Arsenal got £1.8m for winning the FA cup last season. Liverpool received £2m for reaching the final of the champions cup final in america.

Rightly so. FA Cup shouldn't be about the money, should be prestige.

This other comp doesn't have the prestige so has to compensate with money <ok>

you don't play football to earn money, you play it to win trophies.

That very much depends on the stakeholder you ask.

I would say money is key to everything.

I find this astounding, especially since the winner of the champions cup final in America only receives $1,000,000 which is equivalent tro £600,000

Maybe that's in addition?

In reality it is. In principle it shouldn't be.
A statement that holds true for almost all aspects of the modern world.

They're easily pleased over on the Blue side.

Everton’s Muhamed Besic produces best six touches you will ever see on a debut

Everyone wants to make a good impression on their first day at work, but debutant Muhamed Besic produced a better day than most during Everton’s 1-1 friendly draw with Porto.

Seconds after taking to the field to mark his first appearance in a Toffees shirt since signing from Ferencvaros in a £4million deal, the 21-year-old produced three pieces of sublime skill before the PA even had a chance to finish reading the Bosnian’s name.

A couple of neat drag-backs when surrounded by opposition was topped off with a raking crossfield ball 50-yards up field which fell perfectly to its intended target, leaving Everton fans already hopeful that Roberto Martinez has unearthed the next big thing in European football.

<yikes> ok

Bumped into a young mate who's a Utd fan, following his dad.
Iv'e been away for a long weekend so a little bit out of touch,I was asking him about tonights game
and general stuff. One thing he mentioned was LVG saying there would be no more signings cos' he
was happy with the squad.Anyone else heard or seen this being said.Surely he cannot be happy with
what he's got.If true,I think LVG has been told there is no more money, which is something I suspected
may happen.

Any thoughts?

He did say something like that but think its BS. He will probably decide what he needs once this tour is over.
Can't see him not spending more but not good for united if he leaves it til the last minute...so let's hope he does.
