If you're up for it Page I can take you deep into psychoanalysis. Or we could just trade insults. Or we could work on Helmut's tale. Your choice.

OK, excellent, so before we progress any further, have you read Lord of the Flies?

My mistake. Most kids read Lord of the Flies at some point during their school education. It probably hadn't yet been published when you were at school. Have you read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (The Modern Prometheus)?

    Cheeky ****.<laugh>

I read War and Peace at school, started the 1st page at primary school and got the last chapter in the day I left secondary school.

In my defence it took a while to learn the Russian alphabet and read and speak Russian but by the time I was about 6 i was fluent.

Excellent example. So in War and Peace, which character did you most empathise with and which character reminded you of Steve Harkness?

Andrew Bolkonski, young, intelligent, ladies man.

    Mirrors me perfectly.

Very odd that Steve Harkness should enter your thoughts, but that's another discussion.

Good point. I suspect most Liverpool posters will be scratching their heads and wondering who the hell Steve Harkness is. His Wikipedia page is about to see a spike in hits! Just for the record, I don't get any commission.

Andrei Bolkonsky gives up on life Page.

It's impossible not to think of Steve Harkness when discussing War and Peace. Had we been discussing The Sound and the Fury we'd inevitably have ended up also discussing Peter Withe.

Can we get back to discussing football?

Not in the original Russian version, he loses his wife and hope on the next one that comes along.
