Stadium income is a small proportion in money generation nowadays so probably not.

The difference between your matchday revenue and Arsenals is £48m, so it's hardly inconsequential.

What's embarrassing is the way they distribute TV money over there

That's actually the fairest way but not the best way for a competitive league. I'd also say the way we split TV money is ridiculous since it helps the rich get richer.

Surely an atmosphere is more important than cold hard cash? Higher prices means more prawn sandwich munching suits which means there is less of a tribal atmosphere which translates to poorer team performance and ultimately that impacts long term revenue. Simple economics....<whistle>

Sunderland's famous atmosphere doesn't seem to do them much good <whistle>

I think Gez was referring to matchday sales compared to commercial and TV revenue, which is true.

The additional revenue the stadium expansion can generate per year can be achieved with a simple signing of a new partnership, which is cheaper and quicker.

This. Sunderland have cheap prices and a great atmosphere, but still attract less fans and play worse than Arsenal with high prices and a ****e atmosphere.

And studies have shown that 90% of the improved performance at home is down to psychological factors like territorialism and familiarity, with the crowd making precious little difference. Hence the clubs don't care if the fans are screaming lunatic yobbos or prawn sandwich munching toffs:

Not really - Arsenal's extra £50m a year far outweighs even Liverpool's largest sponsorship deal. And if it was as simple as getting a new partnership, why have LFC spent the past decade desperately trying to expand Anfield?

Also the two are linked - sponsors want their branding in front of the largest (and richest) crowds possible in order to get the most exposure. Chevrolet know they will sell more cars to the prawn sandwich bunch that the working class, hence they are willing to sponsor us so much cash!

He was.

But the PL TV revenue at the top end of the league is still less than Arsenal's matchday revenue.

There's not many £48m sponsorship deals around like.......hardly a 'doddle' <laugh>

Most of that goes to Wenger or is laundered by Kroenke, so in current circumstances it is

I was meaning TV income over stadium income but probably should have said all other income compared to stadium income.

Also, highlighted the total stadium income isn't a true factor as a club wouldn't just stop generating any income at all. It would be a reduced amount.

Let's bump this up for today's fixtures.

Good game between spurs and city. Eriksen really looking a good buy. Aguero reminding me of what Suarez used to give us too

Citeh 2-1 up at the mo,both sides have missed pens. <yikes>

As I type, another pen. and spurs red card. fourth pen. of the game

And Citeh score,hatrick Aguero 3-1

Some footballers are ridiculously stupid. Azpilicueta gets sent off against Palace, which means they have a 1 man advantage and a real chance of getting something from the game. Instead Delaney decides to pick up his second yellow card immediately after Chelsea's red card <doh>

Funny how the whole new players bedding into a new system blah blah excuse Rodgers and a lot of our fans use for how crap we've been this season doesn't seem to affect Southampton?

Or maybe, just maybe, they bought well, we didn't.
