No, i just loathe Barcelona. My most hated football team by a long way. Even ManUre can't compete with those ****s.
Abate and Montolivo have been Milans best players and Robinho has looked lively since comming on. Barca have gone down very softly in this second half but Milan haven't done well enough when they have had the ball. I think several other teams (Arsenal included) would have got a goal on the break in this game. Like us they aren't the best defensively and can be vulnerable at set pieces (Milan would benefit from a couple of corners or free kicks in decent positions). On another note, how good is this Barca squad that players like Sanchez, Villa and Song are seen as fringe players. Iniesta, Messi, Xavi are the definition of World Class - how i'd love Arsenal to have just one player of that quality!
What a 4th goal. Barca first team to come down from a 2-0 goal deficit, 2morow we will be the first team to come back from 3-0 down, only to lose it in the last second of stoppage time to a bad own goal of Mannone kicking the ball which hits Vermaelen on the head to go straight in the net for 3-1, and we go on to lose on penalties.
They've had plenty of players of top quality off us thats for sure! But currently who from our squad is on the same level of messi, xavi or iniesta? In recent years we have had players like RVP and Fabregas who would start for any team in the world and before that players like Pires, Henry, Bergkamp. It's time for us to get our next few superstars. I think Wilshere will be one of them, but i want to see us bring in at least one real game changer either in midfield or up top to help push us forward.
Alaba. He's not a diving ****e. And he's austrian, we don't have an Austrian (to my knowledge anyway)
Very good performance from Barca. Similarly to us they where after 3 goals to go through, let's hope we can emulate that tomorrow! Unfortunately i'm working during the game so will have to try and record it, so no match thread for me. I can see Barca winning the CL this season, they have the spanish league set up for a relaxed run-in, 13 points clear with 11 games to go and they have been easily the best team in there league this season. They are out of the copa del rey after losing to Madrid, so there main focus now will be on the CL. The only team left in the competition i can see having a decent chance of beating them over two legs is Bayern, but in the final it can go either way with any two teams (as we know!).
There's one big difference for us in trying to emulate Barca: 1- They're Barcelona 2- We're Arsenal , plus we're away too.
I think Juventus might win the CL. Conte is obviously a damn good manager, and i think he might have the nous to out-tactic whoever's managing Barca at that time.
