However, they could improve on their small mind set and mentality. They really do not have that Xfactor and belief. When we were qualifying for the Champions League at a canter, we were never satisfied.. To them qualifying for the Champions League is some kind of nirvana. Like you alluded, they are a good team collectively, however - cannot see them kicking on and winning the league - (even if they keep their team). There will also be that self doubt... As Fergie once said "they will do a spursy" - They will always shoot their load prematurely!
There comes a time when the team has to prove themselves and win something. Spurs apparently have all the ingredients but still can't do it. I think they've reached a plateau and can't get any better, it's only downhill from here. They will inevitably lose their best players and the stadium rebuild will only take away resources and not add, as we witnessed with our own. lastly we have the manager, it's only a matter of time when one of the big teams come knocking and Poch gets his head turned. I bet Levy is banking everything on keeping Poch as long as he can, especially until the stadium rebuild ends and a bit after. Anytime during will set them back majorly.
Even if they keep all their players and keep Poch too, it's not like they're disappearing off into the horizon. Their best squad and manager in decades versus our worst manager and team spirit in over 20 years and there's still not a huge gulf between us. It is not going to take a significant amount for us to get back to where we were and surpass them again. We will generally always have more money than them at least for a good long while. Which means the only hope they've ever really had is better management to get players to overachieve. It's like ridiculously overclocking an AMD chip to perform slightly better than a stock intel chip. The AMD chip is still inferior though. Pump up the intel chip slightly and it will sail off into the distance because, fundamentally, ARSENAL ****ING RULE AND SPURS SUCK HAIRY BUMHOLE.
For all the doom and gloom surrounding Arsenal, there's a chance we could win the EL (still a long way off) and Sp*rs could finish 5th. How ironic would that be if we get into the CL ahead of them in spite of finishing below them.
Marcus McGuane had his debut for the Barcelona team this week. The Spanish media are making big fuss about him too - they seem to rate him highly. He's good enough to get a start in a side that contains Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta etc.. but he couldn't get chances at Arsenal?!? He's been there for two months and already making the first team squad. Surely he's already better than Elneny? He's a big lad with great skills, seems like he would have been perfect for the EPL. What the hell is Wenger thinking? .. Ive got a feeling we let a top talent leave the Club.
United 2-0 up against Liverpool. Rashford with both goals - he should start a lot more. Really good young talent. Makes you wonder though - How are Rashford and Marshal going to get the games they need to develop upfront at United with Lukaku, Ibra and Sanchez there?
Sorry but I can't rate Maureen anymore. He plays such negative football that it kills the game. Why spend so much money on top players if you're only going to park the bus. At least Liverpool are trying to make it entertaining, he's just trying to get 3 points at all costs. He's so scared of losing.
Actually, tis more like watching an ARM chip, with its superior architecture, lower clock speeds + power consumption. And Intel with its far greater finances and R+D trying to build a competing chip and effing it up royally on every measure. Intel inside. Wenger outside. Or is the other way round ...
Great result last night, seeing Bore United get rightfully knocked out of the CL. You don't see much justice nowadays, but seeing Spurs and then Manure get knocked out one after the other has brought some faith into the CL for me. I'll be following the CL with more interest now.
Also how much is Sanchez regretting his move to Man U now? He was blinded by greed and is now paying the price for having to play the dullest football of his career. After 10 games with United, he's only scored once...
Conte finally sees sense and plays Giroud upfront as CF, it'll be interesting to see what he does at the Nou Camp with Eden Hazard and Willian feeding him. Kante is also back so that should make a big difference.
Giroud went missing in too many big games for us. Its good to see thats also the case with him at Chelsea now. 100 – Lionel Messi has now scored 100 Champions League goals in just 123 appearances.
Worst draw in the CL, really didn't want City and Liverpool to play so early. Would have been ideal if they kept them apart but it should be a cracking game and the game of the quarters.
