Lukaku is smashing it up. He's a decent footballer not especially gifted but he makes up for any technical deficiencies it by being such a good athlete. 6'3 90kgs+ and quick - Most defenders just cant deal with him.
He has some impressive assets. There is no substitute for being a beast up front if used in the right way. I'm sure Mourinho is doing just that. We all know how he used Drogba to great effect.
Chelsea losing good for us I suppose, doubt we can catch either Manchester team, so need all other teams to slip up on top 4.
P10 F30 A3 When the hell did they suddenly learn how to keep clean sheets too? City and PSG favourites for CL? The three stalwarts are looking stale in comparison.
These three teams are at a level where they have been for number of years, PSG and Manchester City and Manchester United have definitely improved over the summer.
They've all declined. Bayern's best players are old and the motivation has gone by the looks of it. Tolisso, Rodriguez, Coman, Thiago...all nearly there players who've relied on worldies without being right at that top level themselves. Now they're the ones being relied on Bayern are not THAT great (although still clearly very good) Barca lost one of the best players in the world and replaced him with potential, and also have one of the smallest squads in world football. Real are still formidable but are a one-man team whose one man is getting long in the tooth. Still great but all getting on a bit. Only Real of those three might upset PSG or City I'd say.
BrunelGooner, are you feeling better? Crisis, what crisis? You were full of gloom and despondency and now look. Chin up Sir.
Goes to show how silly PL football has become. What exactly did Oxo do for us that ever warranted a £35m pricetag? He wasn't worth more than £15m. What is more ridiculous is a top side that is playing CL football would waste their money on him. Crazy.
We got some good results in September. But as I am sure you are well aware, Arsenal have a reputation for faltering when it matters the most. So although I am happy we had some decent results, I will remain completely reserved until I've seen some signs that we can cope with the pressure and can beat the top sides in the division in a meaningful game (and not a dead rubber).
We have a tricky little spell coming up with five games in the next two weeks. None of the opposition are particularly difficult, but the frequency of games will test the squad. We need to rotate and rest players over this month before we play City and Spurs in November.
I'm normally a reasonably positive person-but November and Arsenal are not always a wholesome combination.....
Maybe the management need to invest in some thermals and gloves for the boys? Get one of those SAD lights for those that get depressed with the changes?
Messi's performance for Argentina against Equador was a straight 10/10. Single handily dragged that team into the World Cup finals.
