I can't see us getting Ibra, it doesn't look like a Wenger signing. A shame as he would get a shes load of goals for us playing with Ozil and Sanchez.

I really dispare as an England fan.

We've played well tonight against a very hard to beat side(Portugal) yet all we get from the commentary is negativity.

Seriously Portugal are ranked above us in the FIFA rankings, they have beaten us MULTIPLE times in big tournaments, this is not a game we should be expecting to win. Its a tough game and the side have been decent.

Looking at it as a neutral i think England have been awful and pedestrians (again), unable to string more than 4 passes together or to stretch the 10 men of portugal, who besides a few moments have comfortable dealt with everything.

There is little speed of play either

Ronald Koeman is apparently set to take over the reigns at Everton from Southampton. Whilst some may see this as a sidewards step for Koeman, the Everton job is actually a very attractive prospect when you take everything into consideration.

They have a new billionaire owner who wants to appoint a Director of Football, pay the manager £7m a year (for football managers, this would be the 6th highest managerial salary in the world), in addition to giving him £100m to spend on transfers. With Lukaku seemingly dead set on leaving as well, they could potentially have around £150m to play with this Summer.

That is a very enticing proposition for any manager, surely!

As poor as Everton have been the last few seasons, they do have potential to be a successful club again - good fanbase, historically a big club, decent youth set-up, some talented players and now a new owner that is willing to pump money into the team.

They could be a real threat next season!

Agreed, a good move by Everton. I wonder if Lukaku will be leaving this summer. Is he the type of signing we want? He is quality and ticks a lot of boxes, but is he clinical enough? He should do even better with our service.

Sky betting (obviously not fact) have Chelsea favs to sign Lukaku, with Man U and PSG the next most likely, we are 30/1 unfortunately.

IMO worth it as you will be lucky to get a top class striker for anywhere under £45m, especially not a young one. And we saw what the effect was on our season when we didn't pay an extra £5m-£10m for Suarez before.

I have to say. In the midst of all this, I do feel a bit sorry for Southampton because this happens all the time to them. They have their star players poached from them and in recent seasons, their managers too.

That being said, they always seem to cope well enough without them. Lovren, Lallana, Clyne, Lambert etc haven't exactly been outstanding successes at Liverpool (and West Brom) and when Pocchetino left to go to Spurs, I remember them being very worried about what the future held. But they got in Koeman and have finished 7th and 6th respectively.

Besides, Southampton is also an attractive club to go to - good football, amazing youth system and facilities, financially secure, have gained European football in last two consecutive seasons and the location is quite nice.

I'm sure there will be a lot of managers wanting to take over from Koeman, too. They've handled big losses before. I'm sure they can do it again.

I agree it is a shame that Southampton gets pillaged all the time. But they seem to come through it stronger, which is amazing considering that they have had ownership issues, issues with their MD and lost a lot of players and managers in a short space of time to richer rivals!
