From the looks of that game they had no stuffing to be knocked out. Was easily as insipid a performance as ours against Swansea, Palace and co. I know Real are meant to be pretty decent but you've got to at least try surely?!
Sometimes I wonder the commitment coming out from these big teams like City and co in the Champions league. After Leicester's win, it highlights the lack of intensity of these players, like our own and the rest. Liverpool did well to get through to the finals of the Europa league by beating two very good teams on the way. Klopp has got.them playing with plenty of passion.
I'm very envious of Liverpool getting Klopp. Just imagine what Klopp could've done with this Arsenal squad? He's working miracles at Liverpool. Ah well, that ship has sailed.
I repeat it is a managerial problem we have. Some to bring the best out of the quality squad we have.
I strongly believe that we would have won the title with Klopp in charge. Our main issue is the managers inability to get our players consistently motivated and focused over a full season. His "let the players get on with it" isn't working, and hasn't worked since he lost his invincibles players. Klopp has the incredible ability to get his players filled with passion and commitment. We certainly have the players to win the title, but don't have the right attitude and mental makeup to do it. Next season will be an exact repeat of this season.
Simeone has got Torres looking like a spring chicken again. Torres who was the butt of everyone's jokes is about to be a CL winner. Klopp has got an average Liverpool squad playing with such passion. I can see them going all the way. So we better be up for the City game and seal 3rd place at least!
I initially felt sorry for Klopp inheriting such an over bloated questionable squad. But he's done wonders with what he has and will do better once he's let go of the baggage and brought in some better players for his system. We definitely have the better squad and in my opinion, would have taken us to the next level. Wenger is doing a good job, there is no doubt, but he can't challenge the best anymore. He did well to win two back-to-back FA cups, but that's about his level. Problem is, a lot of teams don't see the FA cup or league cup as priorities. The general priority for top teams is the title and Champions league, and the rest aspire to get into the Champions league for the money. It's sad but this is the general reality, that's why Wenger's main focus is getting into top 4, but he isn't the only one to have that same mentality. We have Champions league sealed this season, so a win or a draw is the most likely result against City. Also our final game against Villa will be a cake walk.
The way that this season has panned out generally, throws up the likelihood of us getting a good result at City and then losing to Villa. Can't wait for this one to finish, to be honest.
It's funny cos I thought that it would be better for you if they won cos they'd be distracted by the final. They need a win to guarantee CL football next season so could now be fully focused re Sunday's match. It would serve them right for treating their manager so disrespectfully if united beat them to 4th spot...all that money they both spent last summer ... bet they never thought they'd be battling out a 4th place spot below Leicester and Spurs
How the mighty have fallen eh ? The most expensively assembled team in the PL and they can't hold a candle to Leicester or Spurs and could even miss out on the CL to Bat **** Louis' band of misfits.
The same goes for Chelsea. As much as we dislike Maureen, the way they underperformed was the worst thing that any team has done in the Premiership. They are far too good to have been struggling that much in the league. But as Leicester have shown, without full commitment and focus, you won't go anywhere, or in Chelsea's case, purposely sabotage the season.
And then Liverpool to win the cup and take the 4th spot ticket! We better not loose against city or it might be our ticket that disappears!!
. Shame it wasn't a little bit earlier in the season. I presume his ban will extend into Spurs first 4 games of next season ?
