I have to say it's hilarious how much the obnoxious one has imploded - picking fights and decending into a delusionary world were nothing was his fault, the refs were always picking on him and his team always deserved to win. Seeing him sink lower and lower was great, I wonder what his next statement will be like... I wonder if he'll ever get over his third season problem?
Alright. Just had a quick glimpse at the Blue's board for sh*ts and giggles mainly. Why does everyone there think Costa and Cesc have caused this whole sh*t storm? Has there been some articles/proof that they've led a squad rebellion? Basically all I really made out is it's the players fault and not Jose's. I don't doubt for one second the players can cause massive damage and have been turds but this seems proper head in the sand nonsense to me.
The blame goes to both camps, the players not giving 100% and the manager not being able to adapt to changes in the dressing room. This is where Wenger is streets ahead of Maureen. He's gone through many years being the Arsenal manager, and in that time, he has faced many problems. But he was good enough to deal with many a difficult situation, whereas Maureen has let it slide to disaster. He did it at Real and now at Chelsea, again. The manager and the players are too good to be stuck at the bottom, but I guess Maureen parting ways is the best solution. It looks like Hiddink could be a possibility. He should get this team playing good in no time and I have no doubt that he'll miraculously (though he is a likeable manager), get the players playing some great stuff. It won't be surprising when we see them go on a run and shoot up the table, their players are too good.
It looked all wrong from the summer (though there were signs at the end of last season - Fab not performing, Costa off the boil, a bit of complacency), when Jose was moaning at everyone and everything and picking fights firstly with Abramovich, saying he wanted to sign loads of players, then moaning at some of the youngsters for being lazy, his obsession with Wenger was weird and creepy, then attacking refs, the media, and Pellegrini just smacked off desperation. Then in his 2nd game of the season he used his lynchpin and right-hand man, John Terry, as a scapegoat for the loss against Man C - which can't have gone down well in the squad, particularly as he then attacked practically every player who was instrumental in winning the league months earlier. IMO the players at Chelsea have always been ****s for they way they dictate to managers and force them out, but I think it was all going wrong from day one of this season, and his arrogance demotivated the players. Still the players made it ten times worse by their antics (or what seems like antics from the outside).
My main criticism of Jose (other than being a massive thunderc*nt) was his public lambasting of the players. Wenger has his faults but he protects his players* to such an extent it's driven most of us crazy over the years! *Bar post Sheffield Wednesday this year!
Really enjoyed watching that interview, thanks for posting. Particularly liked the part when the question to Cesc was 'who is the best coach you have worked with ?' and his response, that he knew who it was but didn't want to say for fear of upsetting another coach, seemed pretty obvious to me that it was Wenger and that Mourinho wouldn't have liked that because of the massive chip on his shoulder about Wenger.
That was an interesting point of the interview but he did show respect though, which he probably learnt from Wenger....
Because Wenger played a huge role in making him the player that he is today (well, maybe not for the past couple of years), and trusted his ability enough to stick him in a team with world class players at the tender age of 16. That's not to say that it definitely is Wenger, but it's not unreasonable to assume that it would be him, given that his best years over a long period of time came at Arsenal under Wenger's tenure. If we're going to be objective, of course.
Hmm... I'd be more tempted to say Wenger is the second manager he's talking about (the one that he cares enough about not to want to upset him).
I don't think Wenger would be upset if he wasn't his first choice. Mourinho knowing that Cesc rated Wenger higher than him though ......
Good call as he mentions that he developed the most as a player when under Arsenal. The other alternative could be a manager in Barca when he was a kid growing up. That too can have a huge impact on a footballer as you grow up, as they can be a father figure. But Wenger provided that too from the age of 16 and gave him self belief to take his career to world level. He was trying to be mindful not to upset anyone, that was clear to see. Henry on the other hand was full of glowing praise of Wenger, he really loves the guy, which was nice to see.
Would like to see Cesc interviewed now that Jise has gone - perhaps he will spill the beans in what's happening in changing room
Cheers for posting that interview, it was a good watch. Cesc says his favourite and his best coach are different, I'm pretty sure he means Guardiola is the best coach he has worked with and Wenger is his favourite. Think I've heard him make similar comments before.
Also Cesc sounded like he thinks some of the players at Chelsea haven't been stepping up and putting in the effort.

United losing 1-0 at home to facking Norwich Making Cameron Jerome look like Drogba On a serious note though, given the ludicrous sums of money that they've spent on reinforcing the squad, they look worse than ever. Out of one of the easiest Champions League groups, out of the League Cup & as it stands, they're 5th in the league. At least under Moyes they qualified from their group and had the League Cup semi-finals to look forward to, and that's without excessive spending!
