He really has left QPR up a **** creek without a paddle. If they get Sherwood as manager they are doomed
There's only one person who thinks more highly of 'Arry than he does himself and that is his boy, Jamie. I've never understood how bad managers get the sack and then walk into another top job - Pulis, Hughes, Pardew, Bruce, O'Neil.........
Because not one of them is a bad manager. Some are in fact quite good. Especially for the lower premier league sides.
Management is a strange profession. You get sacked due to bad results, and then almost immediately, you get another well paid job. And then that club wonders why they're suddenly doing badly again when they have a new manager. The problem is there are very few owners who would risk premier league survival on unproven, young championship managers.
I doubt we would like any of them to take over at the Emirates when Wenger departs and i suspect the feeling would be the same for United fans. However, it does not make them bad managers and I will concede your point with reagard to clubs whose aim is to remain in the top flight. I think Drudeboy's comment was nearer to my way of thinking and articulated it in a better way. As it happens, Redknapp's departure may present an opportunity for a younger and less experienced manager, Tim Sherwood, to prove he is capable.
Mancity losing, they will probably end up wining, but assuming they don't, and with their current patchy form, 2nd place could be up for potential grabs.
I am still expecting a 2nd place finish. Derby's are not to be used as a benchmark, win, lose or draw.
Today was a blip and I'd expect us to put it right in the next game. We have Leicester, Palace, Everton, QPR in our next 4 league games so we should pick up a decent points haul as long as we don't let this defeat affect our confidence. We were well below par today as Wenger said in the post match interview. We have chance to get to the QF of the FA cup next and then the first leg of a Champions League game which also has a QF as the prize, the Spuds aren't even in those competitions, so we need to maintain some perspective.
This Merseyside derby has been so **** so far compared to our game, then again Arsenal-Spurs games have always been good. Hopefully Everton can win this, and then Liverpool beat the Spurs mid-week.
What's funny is the last time Spurs beat us 2-1 around this same time and AVB said we're on a negative spiral, they played Pool next, and lost, while we won....
Looking forward our competitors have some tricky fixtures coming up so if we can regain momentum we could find ourselves up to 3rd in a couple of weeks.
If you believe Spurs will fall away anyway, surely you want them to do you a favour against Livpl who are your real threat. At best you should want a draw.
Spurs will fall, but it's down to results like losing at Liverpool....I think Liverpool are contenders for top 4, but as we've seen all season, they lack something to get them to that top 4 and they've basically been outside the top 5 for most of the season, so I don't really see them making it into the top 4 at the end, I'd rank Spurs as a bigger threat to making the top 4 than Liverpool.
Interesting. I dont think Spurs have the mentality. Even with the results there will come a point where they really wont believe they can do it. Livpl on the other hand, their self belief will only get better with every result.
