Yes but we'll have to play a big team anyways, so its best to get it out the way now. If we're good enough we'll progress, if not then we'll have the Prem to concentrate on.
It was easy for all the group winners this year TBF. Coming second meant a tough draw whatever this year.
If we win this tie, we can progress all the way, if not we can focus on the league. So a win-win situation.
It's definitely not impossible. Over two legs it can be done... but we would have to have zen like 100% concentration. Plus luck plays a huge part in the knock out stages. If we can get some huge reinforcements in January, we can put up a decent fight.
We do have a good chance and agreed, we have to play at the best of our ability to win this tie. Any half assed play will see us getting proper buried.
It's going to be damn near impossible to get a great striker in January, especially one who isn't cup tied.
Cup tied isn't even a problem, there just arnt any top strikers that are going to be available. Maybe Martinez but there are rumours he's off to Chelsea and I think he's going to cost a ridiculous amount for a player his age
Our Feb/March fixtures are incredibly hard. We need to spend on a forward in Jan if we're to stand any chance of winning anything this season.
Unless either Walcott or Podolski can impress as CFs, we desperately need a top quality CF this Jan. But the problem is any available?
Don't worry if Giroud gets injured, we have Sensei Bendthner and the wonder kid Sanogo to come in place.
They are out there, I just seriously doubt Arsene will spend "Ozil" level of money on one. Value before quality tends to be Arsene's philosophy in the transfer window.
