I think United will give us a real test. The game with very even... I hope we can manage at least a point.
I don't think Benteke is an Arsenal type of player though. We'll probably go for somebody a bit more refined rather that a powerhouse battering ram like Benteke. Suarez would have been perfect at Arsenal, I'm hoping we'll still go for him in the summer.
Not sure on Benteke, very inconsistent. Sometime's looks like a worldbeater, sometimes looks like a League 1 player. Agree on there being a very limited choice though. We're actually signing Lewandowski and we're going to laugh as he rapes your defenders, whilst they masturbate furiously to nude pics of Olivier Giroud.
I'd be very disappointed with anything less. As I said, I think this is our best chance in years to come away from OT with a result
Our record at OT has been really **** recently, lost there in our last 5 games (including FA cup)! We haven't gotten something from OT since 2009, when all United needed was a point anyway to win the league. In our last 10 at Old Trafford we have only won once (back in 2007 when Adebayor scored!), drawn once, and lost 8, that is one really really really bad record.
Could be a one season wonder though. His stats prior to this season are nothing special, would be one hell of a risk signing him. If i remember correctly, Arsene said some nice things about him when asked in a press conference, so who knows. If Arsene wants him, then i don't.
There is someone big missing since then, and that is the man Fergie. Teams used to get beaten before they stepped foot on Old Trafford, and that was largely down to him. Take him away and Manure look like VERY BEATABLE.
This has some substance. Fergie used to intimidate referees and officials especially at OT and there was a culture of expectation that Utd would get the rub of the green at OT. Even if it wasn't done consciously, I think refs unwittingly bought into that culture. How many times did we see Utd winning games in 'Fergie time' or given dodgy penalties or the opposition denied stonewall penalties ? Can anybody say that they ever saw a game that Utd lost at OT in suspect circumstances ? Now Fergie has gone, I think the fear factor has gone too. Both from referees and the opposition.
I don't think the fear factor was that much of an issue with Man Utd or Chelsea (when they used to dominate us even harder on results), as much as just tactical naivety. And even though we have good enough 'diversity' in the type of ways we can score goals, we still don't really have anything but plan A, and that is "vee go out zere to play our game". Which works well when it works, but we end up being hopeless when it doesn't against some of these experienced teams which aren't as naive tactically.
you have to feel a bit sorry for the footballing media . With Manure being cr@p now , they have nothing to rave about . They are screwed poor things
The only fear is that moyes is too cautious. he plays an attacking side that has pace then it should be business as usual. Hopefully Fergie lets him in on the secret to beating arsenal,
