Everton were fortunate to win in the end. Disappointing 2nd half from them.

You'll have Drogs and DL on here soon telling you the journos are making it up. I made the mistake of calling it a meltdown and was jumped all over.

Any manager who walks out of a press conf because he's got wound up by the journos is on a slippery slope to losing it as far as I'm concerned.

I think he lost the plot when he decided to alienate Mata, and loan out their best striker. Is it really worth not picking Mata because his name doesn't begin with F and end with rank Lampard?

Dropping Mata was a mistake that everybody could see except Maureen, because his ego got in the way of his decision making. As soon as Mata came on against the spuds it turned the game on its head and but for Torres getting sent off they would have won that game.

Maureen is cracking because the press are pulling him up for his bizarre decisions to leave players out. Inside he must know it was a stupid decision to drop Mata, but he can't bring himself to admit it, so he's walked out in a strop instead <laugh>

Really!! He is loosing the plot? It seems he is doing the same thing he has always done (and many managers do) which is to say controversial things in the media to draw the media attention away from bad performances and bad runs his teams has been on. He always gives a ridiculous interview when Chelsea lose or play bad, it has been his way of taking pressure off his team and players. He is far from ****ing losing it - the only crazy things he has done are loan Lukaku and drop Mata but that has nothing to do with this. God knows what his thinking was there.

Some managers do it and he's done it in the past but so early in the season and during the honeymoon period? He looks a little more agitated than usual. Maybe there is some baggage he's taking from the Real job?

Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa says he must improve if is he is to stay at Old Trafford.

The Japan international has been a largely peripheral figure since joining United last summer from Borussia Dortmund.

"I have to take this like some kind of message (from the manager)," he said. "I need to improve more and more, or I cannot survive at this club. I have to take this in a positive way and keep trying to do my best."

What on earth is bartender Moyes playing at. Kagawa is proven quality and was one of the main players for the impressive BD. He was so good they wanted to buy him back! And they wonder why they don't create as much as they should in midfield.

Moyes doesn't want creativity or flair. He wants destroyer type players. It's why Phil Neville/Darron Gibson/Anichebe kept Mirralis and Barkley out the side last season.

This is the problem we currently have with football and the 24 hour hamster wheel coverage.

Every decision is scrutinised and over-analysed like never before.

    6 weeks ago:

    - Wenger lost the plot when he didn't sign any players
    - Pellegrini was the best thing since sliced bread
    - Fulham were going to be top half after a win at Sunderland
    - Rooney lacked commitment and the dressing room had turned against him
    - Norwich were going to finish top half
    - All the newly promoted teams were nailed on to go down after no shots on target in the opening weekend.
    - Aaron Ramsey was the worst player to ever play for Arsenal
    - Real Madrid were 2nd favourites for the CL

    4 weeks ago:

    - Steve Clarke was going to struggle to keep WBA in the Premier League
    - Chelsea come seconds away from beating Bayern with 10 men

    2 weeks ago:

    - Mourinho had lost the plot for not selecting Mata

The fact is, we don't see what goes on behind closed doors. Mourinho made mistakes in his first spell at Chelsea manager and will no doubt make mistakes in his second spell here but he will get far more things right than wrong, and every decision is scrutinised by media journalists who now feel they can take the biscuit with any club other than United.

It's a non story to me. On the Spurs board I said I don't care how Mourinho conducts his interviews, and I don't. It was just a bit of gentle fun - poke the bear with a stick . Wasn't wrong about which 2 posters would be along though, was I?

I tend to agree with Velachiparoo, who said it was probably deliberate so the Press conference could be ended quicker, for whatever Jose's reasons were.
