Forget finishing 4th, they should finish top 2..... If we finish above them this season, AW should be knighted! I will never say a bad word about him again!

Why are they suddenly splashing the money? How comes they do not fall foul of the FFP play rules. There needs to be a stewards inquiry, something is not quite right, this is financial doping..... there must be something dodgy going on there!

We'll break even on spending this window, how can that be dodgy. We are just very lucky that Real value Bale at £80-90m. That, and other sales, has financed all the others.

They sold Bale for a shed load of cash and a few others on top of that. They are well within FFP. If you want to blame someone then blame REAL MADRID for forking £86m on a one season wonder (but he is a quality player but not worth that much!). You can get a lot of goods with that kind of monies.

Even if you broke even on the sale, you still have pay these players, I doubt each of these signings will be earing less than 70k per week! You have broken your transfer record 3ce already!

I still think they have spent a lot more than they will get from Madrid, we all know how Madrid are bad debtors!

What in blazes are you blathering on about now ? You have spent £100m. Regardless of where it's come from, it's on a par with the same approach that Chelsea and City have taken. Anything less than fourth will be a spectacular failure.

Spurs have a played a blinder in this window, and fair play to them. Off the pitch, the likes of Levy and Baldini wipe the floor with the likes of Gazidis and Dick Law. Levy has played it perfectly and they are being set up for a great season. If we do not buy anyone, then there is next to no chance of us finishing above them this season, purely because of the squads. Our first 11 is still pretty good, but our squad is an utter disaster.

I'm not blathering on about anything, just wanting to find out what you think, since you claimed that your previous posts were what Spurs fans thought. But if you really don't understand the difference between net spend and gross spend and that the sale of our best player weakens the team then it is a waste of time debating with you.

But just to make it absolutely clear - say you sold your whole squad and bought Messi for £150m. On your logic you would have 'spent' £150m and should be looking to be champions at minimum.

But then again Citeh has consistently spent more than Manure over the years, how many times have they finished higher than them? One could argue that they are not a team yet, with all these new players, could this not create a 2-tier mentality within the team? How long before the fans become unrealistic in their expectations, can these players cope? I don't think it is a forgone conclusion they will finish above us even if we do not strengthen, one thing we have is team spirit, can we say the same thing about spuds? They can only play 11 players, some of the big players will have to settle for a spot on the bench, how long before they start mouthing off to the press?

United have always had a great squad to counter City's spending. Fergie knew the importance of a great squad, and he was master at keeping those squad players happy. Spurs have spent some serious money on some excellent players, but they also have improved their squad with the signings of Capoue,Chadli and so on. We have done NOTHING to counter what Spurs have done this summer, and we only finished above them by a single point last season. In fact, we have got weaker compared to last season.

Utd were already buying £30m players well before city got their riches, we are in no way comparable to them

I agree United had a good squad and more importantly SAF. No one was bigger than him. However AVB is no SAF, I am sure Spuds would have checked their signings out and ensured their character is commensurate with their footballing talent. I have lost count the number of players they have signed, on paper they have done really well, but we all know football is not played on paper. Hopefully our players will play without the handbrakes on, nothing is expected from the average fan, this might be a good thing for us. The pressure is off!

For many seasons fans have argued which team is going to win the league before it starts. Obviously, it has little bearing on how their clubs really do during the season. Every year we hear how spectacularly Arsenal have failed, one way or another. I used to have a whole load of links to articles prior to the invincible season where Arsenal are written off as no-hopers.

It really means nothing if Spurs or Chelsea win the war of words prior to the season starting. Most times the pundits pick the wrong winner. Given that they only really had 3 to pick from, that isn't very good. Spurs have made a lot of signings and they are decent solid players, but are they winners? They will need to prove that and not just win the opinion war.

Wages won't be much of a problem.

Reports said Chiriches will be earning less than £20k a week here (which would seem viable as Romanian leagues pay an average wage of around £5k a week) and Lamela accepted a £65k a week offer according to dozens of Twitter reports. I'd presume Paulinho and Soldado would be around £80k-£90k. Chadli and Capoue will probably be around the £50k mark.

After Bale going - £90k, plus Gallas - £60k, Bentley - £50k, Parker - £60k plus whatever Huddlestone, Dempsey and Caulker were earning, we're probably not spending much more on wages, if at all.

Our net spend will also be minimal once the Bale deal is confirmed. We've spent (if you add the inevitable Eriksen deal) around £115m and will recoup around £105m once Bale's gone.

We've done really well this window, it's arguably been our best transfer window ever, both in financial terms and quality of players.

Even as a gooner, i have to agree. Would take almost all of your signings here. Only Chiriches and Chadli wouldn't make it for us.

Yeah I think most Spurs fans would agree we know nothing about Chiriches bar the YouTube clips. If he turns out to be a Vertonghen-esque defender (which some Romanian journo's have claimed) then result, if he's not much kop then we still have 3 great defenders to choose from.

Chadli has done pretty well in his early games, got 2 assists in Europa and he's level with Cazorla in joint 2nd or 3rd on chances created in the league so far. Don't get me wrong he's nowhere near Cazorla's level but for £7m, he's not been a bad addition, especially if he can replicate his Twente form in terms of the amount of goals he gets from wide positions. Time will tell I suppose.
