Spain didn't turn up. Fair play to Brazil but Spain were too cocky expecting the game to come to them. Its fun to see them lose but now they're only going to come back stronger.
Yes. He's a good player with potential ti become one of the best but he's not there yet like many like to harp on.
Wow, and I thought the under 21's were ****, but compared to the lot in the level below, they look good. The under 20's lost to Egypt and could not beat Iraq. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jun/30/england-egypt-world-cup-defeat
They play him as a center back sometimes too. Seems like a much better version of Song. With Martinez though, you can't really blame Bayern. Speaking of Martinez, he should be starting ahead of Busquets for Spain. Soldado should start ahead of Torres. Fabregas and Navas/Cazorla ahead of Pedro and Mata/Silva. Del Bosque picked the wrong team against Italy and Brazil. Spain miss Alonso in that midfield though. -------Soldado------- Iniesta-Fabregas-Navas ----Xavi--- Martinez---- Might have stood a chance with a team like that, though Pique, Ramos and Arbeloa would have fecked it up anyway.
Arbeloa is so ****. Miquel at RB would do a better job than him. Spain needs some CBs because the ones they have just don't click
So I had a conversation with this lady who insists Neymar isn't overrated because he's young and overrated isnt "a word that you can use in context with such a quality young lad" and other young players in general I swear I want to slap people like that
And now she's trying to yell me that Hazard is better than Mata and that Hazard is world class but Mata is not. IMO World Class should be reserved for Top 5 in each area (GK, Defense, Midfield, dnd Attack (
That was Spain's worst defeat in a competitive game since Wales beat them 3-0 in a WC qualifier in 1985
I'd be surprised if Spain play like that in the WC, half their team looked like they'd rather be on the beach..
They certainly appeared to me to be just going through the motions Spain lost to the USA in the semis of the last Confeds Cup and we all know what happened the following year
This result doesn't mean much. They really should have gone out against Italy in the Semi's and looked knackered beyond belief in that game, just imagine what they must have felt in the final? They are still the team to beat and closely following them is Germany. Brazil are further down the pecking order behind Holland, Italy and Argentina. On another note, Spain really need to pull out a plan b when the first isn't working. They have some great players on the bench to do this, but it all comes down to the manager in charge.
The league season is only a few weeks old in Brazil so many of their players would have been a lot fresher
